Open World PvP server

They should make an OWPvP server so we can kill all the bots. And eachother.

I'm actually ok with this. I think it would be fun as hell to walk up to a fisherman and stab him in the eye and kill him. Or Miner VS Miner at a rock throwing contest...

Good, idea but won't the bots just out rank us and kill us since they can set themselves to target anything and everything.

All the archers would just be running around molesting everyone, it will become an archer server dominated server.

I'm all for the idea, though.:o

They aren't for open world PvP so I doubt this will ever happen.

Hell they need to add PvP first.

This is hardly a realistic suggestion, Any PvP is going to be strictly controlled,

This game is designed for more than just the DOM/DOW classes.

I want to kill people who only craft and don't know how to fight

You could say towns and camps are safe zones since there are guards, and they can just give the crafters/land a flee skill.

It will be like the prehistoric ages when herbivorous stayed in packs, while some feed other kept a lookout to prevent such ambushes and getting surrounded.

Honestly with the lack of stuff to do in this game... open world PVP would turn into a massive killing fest

they can do it on a special pvp- open pvp server, but usualyl pvp is the big issue in all mmos, balancing issues after several patches usually make the jobs more boring and people cry all over balancing for years. Most developers have to take special unique abilites or make them weaker to provide a better pvp experience but usually pve sux then since the difference is what makes pve together a fun experience.

Give me the link to the review he said no open PVP many times even yoshi said. It's just not this type of game to have open pvp if they do have open pvp then i guess am out i don't want to waste my time and getting attack by half of the dumb@$$ in the game when am going to go to other city.

On the business perspective why not add another server dedicated to PvP, perhaps it would bring players that only play games that aren't filled with pacifists. As you said WoW has it, that is why WoW would get that persons subscription and not XIV it wouldn't effect the other servers unless they become abandoned as everyone actually wanted PvP, which would be hilarious.

Once again if they did not add only japan world they wont make a PVP world FFXIV and FFXI is about having all type of players together. Yoshi-p said no Tanaka said no so it not going to happen this is a SE game not aion,wow,rift and i'm happy about that if they add everything you want then it just be other wow clone "Final Fantasy Warcraft XIV" No thanks i don't agree with open PVP.

Just add a pvp system like they had in FFXI maybe ship battle and what not but never open pvp that just pointless. top of that the lore does not support open pvp :) the 3 citys are not in war with each other if ffxiv lore was 50years back when all the city and race hate each other then yes open pvp would happen.

Tanaka said before beta that they may make a PvP server but they didnt expect it to do well.

Once again where the link? top of that tanaka is now working on FFXI :) yoshi-p said no so it wont happen. So there no point in adding open pvp it too much work to only have 1k ppl on it.

Then i welcome you to the other 99.99% of game that have open PVP go join them :) you have lot's to pick from. I like FFXIV to be unique like FFXI was adding Open pvp and dualing then next i bet you want battle grounds? and PVP gear and then they going to nuke all the good spell and mess up PVE becuase there trying to fix all the spell and JA and battle system so ppl who want to do a few pvp can do it without problems -.- No Thank!!!!

Let ffxiv be unique and not have open world pvp just add even for pvp and noting more.

I really don't mind :) I enjoy the game i'm sick of the 99.99% games out there that just WoW-clone -.- and ppl only care about pvp and there zero to none lore beside the opening CS of the game and the game feel like you playing wow and no one even know what the hell is the storyline no thanks :) i like FFXIV to be unique something away from wow-clone.

1k people is still a sizable amount of incoming money at 12.99 per person, per month, perhaps money will change his mind or the other executive can force him to change his mind. I'm sure there are others behind the scene executives that aren't fueled by visions of fantasy worlds.

Tanaka is in a better place now, where his schizophrenia can be appreciated.

And all am saying it wont happen FFXIV and FFXI is not about cutting up the player base in to it's own world. They shut down the Japan players having there own world you think they going to give us USA players OWpvp because you say so? when the japan player base is first over any other player base in ffxiv? and they got shutdown when they ask for there own world?

Just saying having event like ffxi with a few pvp that are great are good no need for open pvp worlds. The lore does not support it also so it make no sense not if the game was set back when all the city was at war lol or we allow to play as the empire race but that wont happen also that just a full remake of the game.


@Joeking 1-2k players for one pvp world is a big cost to SE they have to make the world with it's own rules make it so no one can attack DOL/DOH make the battle system and the spell and so on work for the pvp world. They have to make events and more update for pvp events. That pretty much a full new team just working on it. it would cost more money to SE then it's worth.

They would need 20 PVE and 15+ PVP worlds with more then 1k players on each world to make it worth doing all the hard work and we all know that SE wont even waste there time on it. There so much in ffxiv undone and wasting time and stuff we never going to have because they to lazy or cant' do it. the game been out for more then 6month and still have not saw a big update that make this game worth playing.

Just my two cents :) don't want to be rude i know that i love some stuff that other players would never want but this is something SE wont waste there time on. at least now for a very very very very long time and by then it be to late Blizzard new mmo would be out and ffxiv would be the same as FFXI with a few player base playing it.

And why cant Japanese play on an OWPvP server with everyone else? WHy are you being so racist?

I just want PVP in some form. Hopefully a form that'll get more people playing than Ballista in FFXI.
