The two mmos that I think did housing the best, from the past, are DAOC and EQ2. I liked the feel of hanging trophies for folks to see and having a "shop" that was usable by all. I also liked expansion based items like portals that could be placed in the housing.

Ponds, gardens (both planted and potted), greenhouses, trees, garage, extensive house modules that change interior and exterior (say placing a patio, shop front, or garage example), extended patio, howels moving castle door (portal to fixed locations ideally to the three cities), crafting centers, personal chests and magitek autosorters, magitek themes in general.. ima hire cid to decorate my house bye bye gil

I'd ultimately like to see an almost if not actual city like creation (not just one house, or even just "houses") but eh.. that'd be something unlikely - only thing that makes me weary of adding too large of housing is that of course you need reason for players doing that. Likely in the way of crafting airships and other big things- would suck to not be able to do that if you didn't have the FC rich enough for the housing size (cant take part in a content because you cant get the money to buy the "Large" house to fit the airship gantry or something). I could imagine a player doing some sort of phased collaboration with NPCs to gain these features in a new city or just through GC.. but meh long ways away if at all.

Just thinking off the top of my head while trying to leave work, but you get the idea. Something like this would be awesome, I think. It would take us away from the constant grind for a few minutes and give us the opportunity to converse with each other outside the setting of the game. And it could incorporate everything we already do without having to add new features in the forms of our crafters to accompany it. -

Inside my house I want the capability to turn it into whatever I desire, whether it be a private family house or perhaps design it like a public tavern. This will all depend on the functionality of decorating however whether it will be as restricted as FF11 who knows or more open like SWG.
It would be great to tailor the neighbourhood as well as the houses themselves. By all means allow individual players free reign over how they decorate their own houses but there needs to be a wider community aspect to all of this otherwise it will be as abstract as mog houses were in FF11. There should be amenities/services in addition to houses to make it a slice of downtown and not just a random boulevard where everyone keeps to themselves and doesn't know their neighbours(!).Quote:

Interaction with drawers to place items in. Let people come visit anytime they want so that it can be like Christmas lights! Everyone will come look! Speaking of Christmas lights...yes please! Halloween decorations for the front yards with spooky sounds. Jukebox to play any FF licensed song - play, pause, rewind, forward, skip, stop, loop, etc. Race themed furniture so us lala's have little sinks and chairs. Restroom - workable - running water. Design rest room options. Love the screen shot put in a picture frame idea!

Chocobo stable to breed chocobos or other types of animals...maybe use them in races or duels. 2 story house or bigger! We need a dojo room that has weapons we can use to try on striking dummies or hang bags.
I will need a vault to lock all my Gil in though. Like Scrooge mcduck. Hot tubes!! Canopies, gazebo, porch swings....trophy of the primals we bested in story mode.

Would be nice if the FC house has plots around it that FC members can buy for a personal house. I would rather not have random strangers in my neighborhood cause I feel I will be singing Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song in a week.

I know FC housing will be coming first and they haven't released any official pricing information yet but does anyone know if the FC will to be a certain level to unlock housing? My main char is in a level 5 FC so I don't think that'll be a problem but I have alts in a level 2 FC so just wondering about that...
