Character Birth date

What is the importance of character birth date at character creation?

It lets everyone know when your actual birthday is because you ended up using your actual birthday.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one.

In 1.0 during character creation, it would have a default deity for whatever birthday you chose (though you could easily ignore it and pick whatever tickled your fancy). I don't think there is any sort of practical use for it, at least not at the moment.

Maybe you get stuff or buffs for your birthday?

I don't have a quote to reference but there was some talk in 1.0 that they would be sending out birthday gifts to your character. Not sure if that idea will stick around or just be left to the pile of good intentions.
