3102 - Hacked

Alright so I read the forums. I saw a thread curious about how people got hacked. I'm not really worried about that, how doesn't matter. I believe its an internal job, but it doesn't matter. This is a thread about how to fix it in the fastest manner possible.

I logged off just before maint. yesterday and when I try to log in today I receive error 3102. I noticed a new character on a server I've never played on before. I also noticed my character logged off in town when I personally did not. So I have to imagine I've been hacked.

Here's what I've done.... put in an E-mail ticket, yeah todays my first and only day off for a week. That's not going to happen.
I ordered the keychain for the one time password, sorry folks I don't have a smartphone. Too expensive. That keychain is going to take a week to get here.
I've changed my password.
I am now on hold on my phone and have been on hold for over an hour. I have the 'ticket number'.

Where I am...
Still on hold.
Cannot get them to log off the account so changing the password didn't do anything.


What more can I do?
How long did it take you?

Cancel service or account (i forget which) to kick them off. Change Pword yet again. (GET TOKEN) I can't recall where or what thread it was that people who were hacked did this to kick the hackers off, usualy happening within an hourish. Once booted, they reacivated it again. But without a token you're missing that extra layer of protection and i do know most did not have the token at the time of the hacking.

Also i really dislike forums like this posting my character's level etc. Creeps me out. If i want to reveal that info that should be MY choice, not the forums.

There are far too many people getting hacked for this to be a mere coincidence.

Edit: Ok I canceled the service account. I tried to log in and it said it was canceled. Then I reactivated it and tried to log in and still received the same error. Did I do something wrong?

It doesn't seem deactivating the account kicks them out. If I cancel the account it cannot be reactivated. It warns you on that one. Are you sure that's all they had to do?

I just hide it with my Craft lol. Still people can look you up, I dont like my character being shown or her name.

its times like this where I wish they had the feature like in XI where you could boot yourself (or in this case) the hacker offline if you logged in from another terminal. These horror stories are scaring me too, and I've been waiting a week now to get my own ticket resolved. I have an issue similar to what someone else posted in another thread where SE froze my token, but didn't remove it from my account...so now I can't remove it and attach a new one to it until SE decides to respond. -.- It's honestly making me paranoid to log off.

The people who cancled account or which ever, had to wait an hour (so some of them said or somewhat longer). Wish i could remember the dang link, but i woudnt be surprised if it wasnt the 135+ pages of Please Log Me Out Thread. Once they waited (and i believe they had FC or LS members watching their char in game) untill they poofed. Make sure to check if the hackers made additional chars on the account too. A lot of them had new chars with stupid names that were in bad need of a vowel.

EDIT: Cancel service or whichever and keep it canceled. Do not reactivate until they get booted and you are certain none of their alts created are on. Then go about changing pword and reactivating. I know it can take a bit before the system registers the game as cancled and kicks you.

I really wish i could remember what the afflicted people cancled or the dang thread. I'll go try and dig it up while im eating lunch (hard to with the dogs staring at me wanting to share...and then the cat joins in. Shoo guys its MINE!)

Sorry I coudnt quote the original posters of the idea, its gotten so burried under all the new posts i cant even find the thread or recall the title.

But i do believe their wait times to get the hacker kicked was from 1 hour to 3 or even more. Sadly, even that is much too long for anyone other than the owner to be in possession of these accounts. Put in a ticket asap btw, and ask for a roll back if you notice stuff missing. I just wish customer service wasn't so...frighteningly slow and terrible. Most ppl had also used chat and phone, along with their ticket, but i keep reading nightmares about chat and phone service...shudder.

I have sat on the phone ( as have a few friends) for anywhere ranging from 45 minutes to 3 hours. Some people do not remember what it was like when WoW was first introduced. We were ECSTATIC if we got through in under 5 hours. My friends and I would take turns babysitting the phone while we waited for support. Yes, the CS wait times need alot of work, but I know that the issues I have had have been fixed, and relatively quickly for a game that just launched 3 weeks ago (yes I know it's a "relaunch" but cmon, the first time around could hardly be called a launch). The price we pay for being the ones to start pushing the bandwagon, paving the way for the others that don't have the patience to hop on.
