game doesnt work with fio?

Hello, right now I have verizon fio and comcast...just started using fio but everytime i change my wifi to the fio i can't play the game, keep getting error 2002 can't connect to lobby but if switch back to comcast...everything is fine. anyone know what's going on? Or is it you have to wait certain amount of time before playing the same account on different IP/ISP?

I don't think Square has a restriction on different IP same user. As long as you're logged out, you should be able to reload on a different IP with no problems. From my experience with Verizon Fios (I work in the IT field where we have dealt with Fios firewalling our ports and servers for NO reason), I have noticed they are more trigger happy on the firewall blocks than most other ISP's.

Make sure your have the ports Square has designated open and forwarded on your router. If you're still experiencing issues, you may want to give Verizon a call and have them whitelist the ports as they may just hammer them down on the node level.

What ports do Square use for the game? If I were to use port forware on router? don't know much about port forwarding...

butt load of fios issues here

it's not a problem of the game not working with fios, but Fios not working with the game. The issue is that most likely Verizon is treating FFXIV ARR as a peer 2 peer connection and throttling your bandwidth. look at sticky at top of this forum, there is others in the same situation.

Fios is throttling our connection your have to use a VPN to bypass their throttling. I personally use pingzapper to bypass the throttling. It's free but limited to 1 hour a session or pay cheap as 3.99 for 30 days. http://pingzapper.com/ref/kylancelo if you want to try it out.

is there any free program that do the same thing?

In my house I have three computers running FFXIV simultaneously on one FIOS connection (all wired) and I haven't noticed any issues. I'm not using any VPN or any special router configurations.

have 2 desktop and 2 laptop on fios, wifi and wired. not a single problem in game. ping isn't always 100% great. lag spikes once or twice during wkend peak hours.
