Dragoon's Helmet Eyeshield Lifted! (Picture Included)

Logged in today and noticed the eyeshield on my Dragoon's AF helmet is lifted. Found another Dragoon to compare and here's the result.

Now, is it a function that certain helmets can be partial lifted to show the face? Or a bug. I'm hoping its the first.

try typing /visor.

Yep /visor raises and lowers it. I always thought I wanted it up but now that I can I prefer it down.

I wonder why they made a /visor cmd, but not a /hood one. (no, visor doesn't work on WHM AF)

Hoods are part of body piece and would cause all kinds of clipping issues and stuff with hats. That's the official explanation, anyway. I think there was one more reason, but can't remember it right now.

Nice, but can't they fix the white mage hood that always eating our staff?

I would love it if WHM get more 'exciting' armours. We look like some sort of peasants or shepherds. We don't look epic at all, if I wasn't playing the game I wouldn't say that's a lvl50 armour, I'd think it's something low lvl. :(
I want more sophisticated WHM armours!

Considering how well the hood clips with shields already, the official explanation is moot (as they often tend to be). They could avoid that easily by simply disabling headgear display when hood is up.

I don't agree. FFXIV's armor design is realistic, that's the charm point of it. It might be not as pleasing to the eye than armors in other MMOs, but at least it offers actual protection unlike the flimsy pieces of cloth stuck at random points of your character body ("armor" revealing the belly area, anyone?)
