I have so much armor that I love how it looks but it's just not good anymore. I heard a few times it was planned for the first patch? anyone have any more info on it?

They do have plans for a vanity function, but I have heard no definite
indicators of when it would be coming. And I agree, some of the stuff
like the brayflox melee and mage sets are very pleasing to the eyes
or like the sets from the beginner dungeons -

I hope they wont limit what you can wear with them. I want to be able to do dungeons wearing my holiday gear around Christmas!

Yoshida said that it's basically done and just not implemented into the game because he feels it isn't necessary and that it would be too confusing for players.
I personally disagree on both points, and hate having to look like a mismatched clown in a MMO in 2013, but Yoshida said that we'd see the "Vanity System" about 6 months after launch. No clue if that'll be delayed at all due to the launch issues. He also said that it would still adhere to class restrictions, so you couldn't be a BLM walking around in plate. -
