30+ Dungeons
Hi all,
Im a LVL 36 PLD who recently completely Brayflox and Qarn. I noticed a huge increase in the amount of damage I starting taking in these 2 dungeons as opposed to pre-30 instances. Is this working as intended or are the dungeons supposed to increase damage dealt at this point? Also, is it time to start utilizing CC, or are my issues possibly gear related?
Thanks in advance.

working as intended... game is designed to ease you into the end game difficulty of things and 30+ is when it starts to kick in noticeably.

I felt the pain as soon as I ran Bray, and was told how horrible I am. Granted, its a crappy feeling being told how bad you suck but I immediately knew I was doing something wrong when I was literally holding no aggro on mob sets.
I researched on forums, ran over my spells and am practicing Manor to get a better taste of rotation. However, many DPS is not helping the situations for tanks learning these instances, considering the aggro spread and how difficult it is getting threat back or chasing 1 mob off a healer while trying to manage the rest of the pull. Further I'm on the PS3 and the targeting is incredibly difficult, its easy to misclick and your spamming [O] to cancel your targeting or your camera gets all jacked up from R3 or L3 lock.
Overall, I sincerely hope the community understands that making fun or calling tanks terrible will only makes those queues longer, especially considering how many people are simply new to MMO's.

It's not gear related. My 41 warrior has most of the gear obtainable from every instance, and he still takes a great pounding from trash mobs. Bosses are not a problem, however tanking 3+ trash mobs makes my healer spam like crazy at times. CC is the best option if you have it, I notice a great ease when mobs are slept and we can focus them down 1by1. So use them CC's and pop them cool downs.

one thing that will help you out is make sure your main weapon is on level with the mobs in the place. I walked into sunken temple and couldnt hold any aggro i felt like a joke. me weapon was just a couple levels under. Switched to a lvl 35 dagger that dropped and problem instantley solved with no adjusting to rotation. Flash for instance is based of weapon damge so a lower lvl weapon makes is weaker when your party is using on level weapons to do their damage.
as for taking damage. Odds are you had a scholar healer. i take WAY more of a beating when a scholar is healing. at this point in their lvl curve they arent the strongest single target healer. they can do it... you will just be around half health alot more

Thanks for the advice guys.
Threat is a non issue, I keep aggro pretty well. The issue is me getting hit like a mack truck. Well, guess its time to stop face rolling and and actually play smart .... damn :)

Huh, odd. Every healer I have been with in dungeons in that range (that we finished) has told me I am pretty easy to heal and am able to take a beating. I honestly haven't noticed anything different, tho I do cycle my cool downs liberally on trash mobs as they tend to hit a lot harder than bosses (if you avoid mechanics). I will say this, I hate Sunken Temple with a fiery passion and outright refuse to go back there. I leveled myself as fast as possible to 38 to get to the storyline dungeon and avoid ST. Every duty finder group I had was terrible. DPS who would tunnel the boss, ignore bees, and ignore doom. I am sure with competent players it would have been fun, but with those groups? Forget it, never again. Honestly, if groups are this bad the rest of the way I may just skip duty finder entirely and only dungeon when I have to.

At lvl 30 the instances start getting harder I assume because you should have your advanced class unlocked and have more tools at your disposal. However I just ran the lvl 30 instance and was getting slammed the whole time. Warrior cooldowns at this point are pretty underwhelming.

The damage gets ramped up a lot but at the same time whm gets tools that actually make healing easier than at low level when you only have cure. Stoneskin, regen, divine seal, cure 2. Since I had those spell I feel like god when healing so dont worry we can keep you alive.

IMO, you need 3 pieces of equipment updated:
Weapon
Armor
Shield
If you have those 3 updated, things will get easier. Other than that, its all about RNG actually. Like some fights you get crit more, or you block more, etc. Just be sure to remember to use your defense skills, even on trash mobs. Rampart, Convalescence and Foresight (From MRD lv4 iirc). If you use Foresight first and when its over you use Rampart, you can have -20% dmg from about 1/3 of the fight. Convalescence is for when you need that exta heal (someone screwed up) or you just feel like poping after Rampart for a few more seconds of 'improved surviability'. And tell your CCers that they have CC for a reason.
PS: sorry if there is any typo, enligsh isnt my first language.
