I wonder about this too. Only idea I have for this is that they messed up developing the queue system, where too many queued players also lead to server congestion.
Edit: I also have never seen a queue with more than 200 players in it. If I´m queued I´m logged in after about 2 minutes.
WoW has had years and years of experience with managing their game so they've had plenty of time to implement working systems that can survive under heavy load. ARR will learn from this for future updates I'm sure since they really seem to have underestimated the amount of users they would get. Massively, might I add.
Biggest queue I've been in was about 60 people. It took maybe 2 minutes to get into the game once the queue message popped up. I wouldn't be surprised if the queue limit was about 300.
well, they really need to add a "auto logout" function to all those people who just log in and let their characters ilde for 3+hours
I'd rather have GW2's overflow servers.
Because this is their very first MMO, it's not like they've had at least two MMOs and more than 10 years of experience with online games before, give them a break.
I don't think they originally had the queue, I think they added it when the servers got o erwhelmed
They need to sort out queue, it's broken! What's the point of having it?
We wouldn't have to hammer the servers with constant retry. Would be more organized, instead of smashing 0.
