Is this game going to be solo friendly? or have you scraped that.

Seriously everything you are doing to this game is taking it from the direction of solo friendly.

The change in SP has greatly affected this fact.

Guildleves aren't very solo friendly.

You've now ruined behests by lowering it to 8 man. I'm sure they're fun if you can get in.

It's also completely pointless to level off of anything in the field.




I just really want to know so I can make a decision on this game.
Are any aspects going to be solo friendly?

Do you plan on doing anything with the SP? If so what are your plans, if you may.

Also, have you thought anything into having parallel behests to solve the problem of people not getting in.
Having two to three might not be such a bad idea.

I'd really like some info on this stuff because in the beginning this game was promised to be solo friendly, but with all these changes you are making this game is becoming less so.

I'd really just like to know if you have plans to make it more solo friendly. I'll even take the most vague response you can throw at me. It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

wait what guildleves are not solo? then how come i can do them? maybe you putting them to many stars at low levels. If your level 33 doing a level 30 leve at 3stars then ya you can't do it but if your level 39 then yes you can :) everything in the game is very solo for the quest to the mission from craft too even level up your class.

They're casual friendly but I wouldn't call them solo friendly.

I'm not saying I can't do them, it just doesn't work out in the favour of solo friendly.

Most of the leves are 1vs2 or 1vs3.
And I find alot of times when I solo them they're either really easy or really hard, there's not quite that difficulty that is challenging and fun.

I'd rather fight stuff in the field and leave the guildleves to do with me and a few buddies since they more or less seem as if they were created for that purpose but they completely ruined field fighting.

I'm a patient dude but every time I go back to playing this game it just frustrates the hell out of me.

You need to level up other class then :) Get cure get protect and shell get Stoneskin. Get stuff to help you that the point of playing solo, it's not about going and playing solo and not being hard they need to be some fun in to it. trust me if you get some other class level you see how easy soloing is. even without them i can solo a few leves i know a few are hard thanks to many mobs but there still behests which are now 30mins.

try and get what i told you it would help you solo.

I'm more concerned with the way this game went from the direction of solo friendly, to not really worth it to solo.
I played FFXI for years and the biggest attraction this game had to me was the whole solo aspect.

I might end up just fighting field mobs but the amount of SP they give is ridiculous, if I use that as a way to level it will take me quite some time to get up anywhere.

My choices are now, find people to team up with, do guildleves (which I'm not finding all that entertaining solo) or try and fight for a spot in behest, which I have no interest in.

It's not that I have no interest in trying behests, but I'd rather not fight with people for a spot. I think having them as 8 man parties was an excellent idea. It'll raise the difficulties and strategies used in the fights. My only query now is the fact that you have to fight 20+ people for those 8 spots.

It's in my nature to feel guilty about just about anything and I can't bring myself to stealing what could have been someone else's fun, I'd rather just not bother with it.

It would be in their best interest not to discourage players in this fashion. For instance, what if someone has a slower internet connection, would it not be harder for them to get a spot, or what if they were far from the servers, that might affect their chances as well.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying lowering the party size to 8-man was a bad idea, I believe it was a great idea but creating yet another way to discourage players might not have been the wisest choice. Cutting the behest time in half does mean that an extra player per hour capable of doing behests, though this just means that the players with the quickest draw will get to play twice as much, which everyone else is left out feeling discouraged.

I just don't know what to do, I love final fantasies in general, the story telling is out of this world. They keep you trapped and engaged and fill you with emotions. Also, FFXI was the greatest game I ever played, just life got in the way lol, could no longer spend mass time playing. Alas, I've tryed other MMOs but none make the cut of as challenging as FFXI was.

I see a tonn of potential in this game or I'd of gave up on it already, I now see that their game engine is top notch and this game does not require the time sinc that FFXI did, but alot of what they're doing is making this game harder and harder to enjoy.

I'm excited, but discourage. I've yet to hear any mention on what's going to happen with SP. As far as I know this game is going to have one productive way to level, behests.. and with this new addition of 8-man parties, they're making it hard to even do that.

I know not many left will understand this but the way I want to play this game is come home from work or school, throw on the game and just solo level for an hour or two, saving partying and all that fun stuff for the weekends. The direction they're taking it I don't really know why I still play this game or care. I guess I"m just hoping that with the revision of SP they're going to fix what's broken and bring this game back to a solo friendly state. Not solo only, solo friendly, that's all I ask, that way I don't have to waste my precious time with all the preparations that we had to do in FFXI.

I'm sure the mid-high level battle content will be just as or more epic then in FFXI, but how are we to get there in a solo friendly manor without constantly feeling discouraged?

Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I consider myself a pretty intelligent guy and if I feel this way, I'd imagine others feel this way as well.
I think taking the solo aspect out of the game might have also caused alot of fallout with the player base. I'm still giving it a chance, popping back in here and there, seeing if they've righted their wrongs but for the last few months it seems as if the solo player has hit the bottom of the totem poll.

I really just want to know if I should give up on my dream of a solo friendly FF MMO or if all this time I've dedicated is going to pay off in the end.

At this rate I"m never going to hit any decently high level so I'll never get to enjoy the content they're getting ready to release.
I could just tough it out and play a game I'm finding little to no enjoyment in playing but I doubt I will.

I suppose I'll probably just end up soloing field mobs for that little to no SP. Hopefully it doesn't discourage me yet again. Or gezz maybe I'll try to master the art of the guildleve lol

Either way, they need to make leveling in this game as fun or more fun than it was in XI. I'm still a firm believer that Action based SP will make this happen but I"m not gonna put my hopes up. A majority of the player base has no idea of it's benefits and if majority rules I can kiss that hope goodbye.

The game is not base on solo it may get better for solo but not 100% solo. Btw you could do behest in the areas no one does them o.o that what i do and i never have to fight for a spot sometime i can't win the last boss but w/e at least i can win the rest of the mobs by myself and get some good sp while i go and fight Mobs.

Am not really playing much because most of my friends went and play ffxi and at the time when they left i had problem at home to pay for the game. I do play with my gf so with 1 person more we do the leves pretty good and fast but i understand you want to play solo. but everything they going to add would be base of party, oh remember they going to fix the battle and class system so that could help your solo more.

play what you can do but wait too they add the battle and new class system and maybe the solo play get better.

The word friendly is a subjective term, this game in many ways is solo oriented. You can solo all the content in this game apart from NMs, solo play albeit isn't as effective as group play when it comes to gaining sp but that is not the point here. Solo play is not meant to be a replacement for group play, solo play is a viable option when you either don't have time for group play or don't have the patience for it.

Honestly I think this game is solo friendly I've soloed an entire job from 1-50 before they doubled the sp gained from mobs, yeah soloing is a slow but whats the rush? This game isn't a race it doesn't matter if you're getting 2k or 20k sp an hour play at your own pace.

There's no reason you need to be able to make 10 times the SP in a group as solo. It would be more reasonable if that range was smaller like a full party of 8 made 3 times the SP.

It should be that every person you grouped up with to fight added a little more SP to your SP/hour gain, not that it over doubles every time.

Right now unless I'm wrong, I can fight a monster on the field (probably in behests or leves as well), solo I will make 200 SP, with a buddy we will kill it in half the time and still make 200SP or with five buddies we will kill it in a second and still make 200SP. It's discouraging.

See no one is going to care because you all are very content with grouping up with people where as I don't have the time or patience.

Now you're all going to tell me I"m playing the game wrong, that I have to play it your way.
The content may be solo friendly but the SP gain is not.

W/e man I'm sick of putting my point of view on these forums, it's very rare to find anyone who is willing to try and understand others problems.

So let's talk about how they've taken this game from solo-friendliness.

First the change in SP was to promote party play. At first it was more along the lines of what I'm talking about, but everyone started soloing so they made it where no matter the amount of memebers in your party you made the same SP.

Behests, yeah they are solo friendly, but this current reduction to 8-man means I have to fight for a spot.

Guildleves can be done solo, but it's not rewarding.
Sorry, I should rephrase that. With certain jobs it's rewarding but with others its not.
I'm mostly talking about the difficulty of them anyway. When you fight solo you run into battles either being too easy or way too hard, there's not really a middle ground I find. Of course mage jobs have this easy, just buff run in and spam AOE's. The difference is with melee jobs I need to build TP to do AOE's.

You're also right, I can level off of monsters on the field, but why should I be punished for that, why should I make 10% of the SP that everyone else in the game makes?

I'm already strapped for time which means everyone else is going to be able to level faster then me, now I make 1/10th of the SP that everyone else does on top of that. But you'll seem to think that's only fair, so it must be right?

Take it from someone that wants to solo, they're ruining the solo aspects of the game.

I'm a numbers guy, it bothers me that I make 10% of the SP that everyone else does, unless they find a way to fix that I'm most likely not going to play this game and advertising it as solo-friendly and then subjecting people to this is just going to upset other new players as well.

I'm suggesting they need to do something about this.
If they don't plan too I just want to know so I can stop wasting my time with this game.

If they can fix this they're going to have a more successful relaunch, unless they clearly state that this game is no longer meant for the solo player (which in the direction they seem to be taking it, it really isn't)

Imagine for a second how you would feel if you were told a game was solo friendly, went to play it and found out you were blatantly lied to. You'd be pretty upset, no?

Also, let's say since all of you seem to be content with the current game that they took they whole party aspect out of it and made the whole game solo-able, to the point where you were punished for teaming up with people, now you would most likely be upset to the point where you were raging on these forums, "What have you done SE!".
I'm not saying make this game only solo, but the difference between solo and group needs to shrink alot.
I just want it to feel rewarding for me to level and I'd rather not be forced to level a certain way to do that.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Behests are awesome for the soloer, I'm sure it's rather more fun as well since the switch to 8-man. If I can't participate, what good does that do me?
