Grand Company quest progression error

Steps:
For starters, it should be noticed that this is a legacy character (formerly Erik Varco). In 1.xx, I joined the Immortal Flames. In ARR, I decided to go with the Maelstrom instead.
1. Chose the Maelstrom during the normal course of the story quests.
2. Upon joining, noted the Storm Commander NPC had one locked quest (red quest icon with key) named Shadows Uncast (Maelstrom). When clicking on the quest and viewing the quest dialogue window, the reason given for the quest being unavailable is simply "Maelstrom".
3. Guessing it was an issue of rank, I dropped the matter and pursued promotions. However, I am now Storm Sergeant Second Class and the quest is still locked to me. I understand that, at this point, I am supposed to receive a quest to obtain the ability to ride a chocobo. However, no such quest is available. Additionally, when I retrieved my old chocobo whistle at the start of phase 4, I was able to ride it and my goobbue immediately. I am also able to summon my chocobo in battle (after having completed the prequest).

Ugh, nevermind, the quest requires Sergeant First Class, it unlocked as soon as I promoted myself. If a mod could delete this thread and erase my shame from the internet, that would be great.
