Hard mode primals + duty finder?

I haven't finished the story quest personally, but after hearing a few people in my linkshells talk about entry for hard mode primals, I'm extremely disappointed. To my knowledge, there are no items required for entry anymore, i.e. inferno tapers, unmarked keystones, vortex headdresses. On top of this, we can queue for hard mode primals with the duty finder, even though a recent interview with Yoshi-P at Gamescom may have lead us to believe otherwise.

Does anyone else find this concerning? I could stomach the story mode primals being accessible through the duty finder, since you really don't personally have to do them more than once. Hard mode is a different story though. Primals are very big chunk of endgame and if 1.0 is any indication, people will be running them constantly for drops to advance onto other content.

Since the introduction of the duty finder in Phase 3, I tried really hard to convince myself that this game wouldn't be reduced to what people might consider a "hub game", which, it isn't for the most part. But you have to admit, people sitting in town all day queue'ing up and being whisked away to endgame content is silly.

After listening to some of the people go through these fights on Raid Call... do NOT worry. These fights are BRUTAL.

I think his concern is less for the difficult of the content and more for the effect of the implementation of the content on the sense of community and sense of being in a world.

Considering the difficulty also means that you're better off with organized groups of people you know, I'd say in a way they are one and the same to an extent. You can't force community on people regardless of what you do frankly. Pugging through duty finder is little different than pugging through normal means. Most of the time the people you run into aren't going to care to friend you regardless. Those that WANT to find people to friend will make an effort regardless, and that's what creates a community. Hell, even reputation doesn't mean a whole lot because frankly? A lot of people aren't going to believe the word of a couple people, and for good reason, because some people just love to cause drama.

Correct. Although, I can already tell people are going to think I'm crying "MA IMMERSION", when I'm not. I just think they went a little overboard in the "accessibility" department.

I have no problem with people using the duty finder with players of their own server, or using the cross server feature. If they can manage to pull off hard mode primal kills with randoms, more power to them. I just think there needs to be some restriction on how accessible these endgame fights are. I mean, there aren't even timers on re entry anymore. People are gonna burn through this stuff awfully quick.

Duty finder is a great tool, if 8 pugs can come together and beat this content more power to them.

Why would people think duty finder make the content easy?
Was Garuda easy with a /shout party in 1.0?

I feared the same thing but there is a cap on things you can do so that wont be an issue....just like with DL tokens...can only get 300 a week so if ure saving up for DL body or legs ure talking 4 weeks of dungeons....(mind u just one piece!) So it wont be burnt through as quickly as you think.

What's the difference between sitting in town waiting to do it, and sitting outside the primal's lair and shouting for a group to do it?

People are still gonna be in one location either way.

ifrit is the same as the extreme version in 1.0 only problem is you have to use your limit break on one of the nail or if you have aoe you can get them.
