Put items on the GCD -- PLEASE!!!

So, I don't know if there are any crazy item users out there, but as it stands items are quite literally useless (at least according to myself, and the consensus in shout chat on Balmung, lol). The CD is so incredibly long that they aren't worth taking up space on the hotbar (unless you rock 4 or 5 rows, in which case mad props to you), and if you ever run into a situation where they would actually be useful it takes so long to rummage through your inventory and find them that theyre almost unusable.

It'd be really great to have items be a useful part of this Final Fantasy -- devs, PLEASE put items on the GCD, or if you feel so inclined give them their own CD. Even if you have to nerf item effects, can you look into this?

I mean, if they aren't going to be useful then fix them, or just take them out, because right now they're little more than a novelty (and a lame quest reward when no other options are given..).

The one possible exception to this is the buff potions, but i've been saving them up for a special occasion so the jury is still out on those.

I refer you to the "nerf items if needed" comment in my original post. It wouldn't be that hard to avoid item stacking, not that Final Fantasy hasn't been about that in the past or anything...

Exactly! Just use more damage mitigation skills and avoid situtations where you would need to spam potions

As a MRD I have 2 items in my hotbar - hi-potion (could save you long enough to get that vital cure) and an ether (bit odd I know but sometimes that extra flash comes in handy when things are asleep).

I honestly can't think of any other items you'd need in your hotbar.

Food lasts 30m and Esuna should take away anything that's crippling your character.

Just get a decent party / use some strategy instead of relying on items.

Pretty much this.
Anything other than those two items can just be selected before hand in any situation.
These are the only ones you would need in a battle.
