WAR Level 50 Quest - How to Quit You

Any tips for this quest? One time I got the "boss" down to a silver of health but each of his attacks does 300-1k damage.

I've tried it twice and failed both times. Am I missing a gimmick?

i have no clue what the war quest entails, but i think you'll win if you keep trying, as I think you can get increased stacks of the echo buff, which makes you significantly stronger with each attempt.

Open: defiance, foresight and thrill of battle. Reuse later two as they become available.
Basic rotation: heavy swing, maim, storm's path
If full life: heavy swing, skull sunder, butcher's block
Keep dotted with fracture
Five stacks of wrath: use inner beast
Heals as needed: second wind, featherfoot, bloodbath

Phase 1: Build wrath stacks on adds
Phase 2 (CG): Key here is to dodge every attack and follow rotations. Make sure you've zoomed out your character into a distant third-person view so you can see what type of attack he's about to use (noticed line attack, cone, and small AOE).
Phase 3 and 4: When you get him down a bit (2/3rds life and 1/3rd or so) event mobs will pop. They will be easy to see on your minimap. Each one will have a chance to heal or hurt you as you trigger it. After each wave of these you should be fully healed, however, so don't worry about the occasional ones that can damage you.

I never received the echo buff the second time. Maybe it is just for the Main Scenario quests.

@Nupper - Thanks. I was using the Heavy Swing, main and storms path rotation. I just found that i was getting hit so hard. I will give it another shot tonight.

very interesting, something for me to look into... maybe they dont give echo buffs after a certain lvl? I know i got it for the lvl 25 class quests... i shall check it out, thanks!

Thank you. With these tips I beat the fight tonight. I did much better actually, so much so that I went looking through the logs to see if I received the echo buff, but I did not.

Excellent and congrats! I really enjoyed the fight since it forced me to really learn my abilities. Excellent level 50 quest for mrd and well-tuned.

Tried a few times myself (kiting) but didn't work out.

P.S.: I have to admit that starting 2.0 with lvl 50 classes/jobs, is a bit hard for me, because of getting all the new skills at once x_x

Run when he does bloodbath so he doesn't regain life. Other than that follow what everyone else has said.
