Conflicting Information between the EULA and Product Pages

This implies that each character created beyond the first incurs an additional fee. It does not seem to refer to the current subscription model, as outlined on the product page for FFXIV. http://i.imgur.com/RODLave.jpg

Lastly, this part of the EULA references an additional cost for hiring retainers beyond the first, which conflicts the in-game tutorials, stating that we can hire two.

Which are the players to believe? The EULA, which is seemingly outdated and references 1.0 subscription models, or the more recent information, but which as users we have not agreed to?
