Concern about "Branching Classes"
Ok, I love this game. But there is an issue that I have been reminded of by an ls mate that concerned me the moment that we learned that Scholar was a job.
The fact that one class is a..."trunk", of several job "branches"...if you know what I mean. I.E. If you level up anarchist...then summoner and scholar will level up as well. If they plan to do this with every job, then when they finally do release new jobs, then after you do the unlocking quest...that job is automatically at the same level as the class you have for it...which would more than likely be maxed out already. And you'd be given all these new abilities that you would have little understanding of.
This might dramatically cut out game content, and learning the new jobs.
I dunno...what I'm trying to say is, even though this was how it was in 1.x, I kind of wish that every job would start at level 1 like it did in FFXI. I know this isn't FFXI, but I think it might really help. I was just ok with it in 1.x....but with them branching more than just 1 job to a class...you're basically leveling 3 things at once. Doesn't that seem kind of...bad?
Though I guess an alternative way to look at it would be like in WoW where you would level certain specs. Such as leveling a Druid and being able to go balance, resto or feral.
It just doesn't feel like that...like each job/class is it's own entity...not really part of the same.
*shrug* what do you guys think? Am I over thinking this? I'm just worried about endgame, and bring up 3 jobs at once...and what if they have plans to link more than 2 jobs to a class?
