Louisioux's tattoo theory

So as we all know FFXIV borrows elements from previous Final Fantasies. Do you think the mark on Louisioux's neck is a nod to the L'cie brand from FFXIII?

When the mark lights up in the End of an era video, could it mean that Louisioux has completed his "Focus"? Does Louisioux turn into a crystal? What does this mean for the crystal tower?

Aren't we the players getting a mark on our body too? Does that mean we have a "focus" to complete in ARR?

Bulloks or probable, what do you think? :p

My personal opinion? It's the equivalent of a modern-day tribal tattoo. All the members of the circle of knowing have it, although I suspect the l'cie thing is a red herring.

I've also put my money on Louisoix becoming Odin.

The Circle of Knowing hails from the city-state of Sharlayan in the northwestern Dravania region. They are marked by the Tattoo on their neck.

I'm thinking the same thing. I think the story for ARR is going to be really good since it's going to have to explain the stuff that happened after Bahamut's rampage.

Aye i know all that, but is the tattoo a Sharlayan thing? a Circle of knowing thing? or where they branded because of something that happened in the past and made them travel as a group of adventurers to our city-states?

Crystal Tower is the tomb of Xandes, the first Allagan Emperor and possibly Nael's original goal before he was warped by the dragons. Most of the inspiration for the lore involved with that is likely to come from Xande of Final Fantasy III.

I'm not quite sure what's up with the tattoos, but I found it interesting that Lou had one tattoo, white on the left, and Uri had one tattoo, black on the right, and everyone else had two on the neck.

I'm honestly hoping Louisoix is just dead. He sacrificed himself - that should mean something more than an excuse to pull a Gandalf. I've heard a few times that maybe he'll be Odin; where does that idea come from? I'm interested, but isn't Odin as old as Bahamut and why would an Archon of the Twelve become a primal, never mind an Elder one?

Even stranger, he might not even be dead in the first place. We assumed that light was from Megaflare landing and he was wiped out... but we now know that the light was some mysterious force that spirited Bahamut away (a force many assume to be Odin). Wouldn't that mean Odin showed up before he was even dead? IF he's dead?

Lastly, has it not been heavily implied that Odin was the primal the Empire encountered soon after taking Ala Mhigo? This was a few years before the Paragons taught the tribes to summon the lesser primals - it was likely an Elder. Bahamut's was moonbound, whereas Odin was free to wander his home of the Black Shroud - right next to Ala Mhigo. All of this took place while Louisoix was alive.

It seem like a Circle of knowing thing there people that know a lot of history events. Sadly there just not enough information on them but that what ARR is for and they just not going to give out information and mess up the storyline for us for ARR.

Louisoix can't be Odin

A fell knight clad all in black, Odin roams paths long forgotten beneath the canopy of the Black Shroud.
There are none now alive who know the truth of when or by whom this elder primal was first summoned into the world. Ever vigilant as he sits astride his mighty steed, Sleipnir, it is said that Odin is drivenly solely by the desire to do battle with worthy foes.

Odin is a primal that walking around black shroud and each time someone kill him he become stronger. Too the point that he can no longer be killed by normal linkshell. So this going to be a fun elder primal to fight i think the storyline is that he lost his memory and each time he killed and he come back he gain more memory and more of his elder powers.

At least that what people told me that they read somewhere that yoshi-p said.

So ya louisoix is not odin and i hope he does not come back because if they do a gandalf on us then his death was pretty much noting lol

As I find this quite likely, it surely means that instead of saving us, Lou teleported us into stasis for five years FOR NO REASON. Grr.

I'm always glad when someone agrees with me on that point. I'm all for people coming back from the dead on occasion, I'm all for deaths we didn't know weren't deaths at all, etc. But this isn't one of those times. He selflessly sacrificed himself during an emotional song and then everybody cried. You don't #### that up after. It's done.

It's like in Gundam Seed DESTINY when they

brought back Mu La Flaga. There goes all the emotion I felt in the finale! GONE.

Hey, if we didn't age, we got back five years of our lives back and we get to spend them around something other than people whining about the Calamity. That's not all bad! I bet they've even rebuilt most of my local haunts and fixed the economy.
