GTX 680 Benchmark scores.

Hi, I'm trying to determine if I should upgrade to a GTX 680 from a GTX 480SC. My current score is 6100 on max setting (1080p) But I'm hoping to hit 8500+ with a 680 GTX.

I seen some people hitting 6k on a gtx 680 and others hitting 8-10k on a gtx 680 so I'm trying to compile scores on the GTX 680 with various system builds.

When posting your scores please include the following.

Mother board : Whether it is PCI-E 2.0 X 16 or whether its PCI-E 3.0.
GPU: GTX 680 version, 2G or the 4G version (only interested in single card builds)
CPU: (example: I7 - 960 @ 3.2Ghz)
Ram: Type of ram. (Example: 3X4G DDR3 1600HZ)

Your 6100 score is higher then all the other GTX 480 scores ive seen. You are the only one to eclipse 6k. I think you can expect scores between 8000-9000 with a 680.

Any decent 680 you got with a moderate OC would easily give you the results you are looking for. Might not even need to OC

Edit: I went and disabled hyper threading which added about 150 points. With hyper-threading disabled score is 8500 at stock GPU; 9400 at overclocked GPU.

I hope so, my biggest concern is my mother board, as its PCI-E 2.0 and the 680 GTX supports PCE-E 3.0, I know they are backwards compatible, but I fear if I upgraded to the GTX 680 I would lose some performance due to the PCI-E 2.0 mother board I'm using.

the GTX680 cards seem to be tearing up the benchmarks from what I've seen.

This isn't the exact card you're looking to get but I hope the info helps anyway, it's the one under it the Gigabit GTX 670, but running at 60FPS in maximum settings with no detectable slowdown it's pretty sweet.

I get around 5700 with normal background programs running at 1920x1080 max settings [AV, vent, steam] Is the game actually utilizing that much ram? I've always been of the opinion that even 8 is overkill.

It looks smooth as could be, fyi, is yours not running smoothly?

My mobo does the same thing and only supports 2.0 and I am getting 7770 scores with the GTX 670 unclocked. You should be fine.
