Geomancer, Do you want it?

Hello all,

I do not post often on forums. I was in closed beta for 1.0 and played about 3 months after release. I quit and came back 3 months before End of an Era. I was extremely surprised to see how well Yoshi and his team handled things and after being in 2.0 alpha i must say that my faith in this mmo has been fully renewed.

Topic: Geomancer

This is probably the coolest class in the FF series and does not get enough recognition. I think Geomancer should be added in ARR during the second wave of new jobs. I have some ideas and sketches in my head that i may post later but for now i am curious to see how many actually want Geomancer. I understand that many are looking forward to Samurai, Ninja, Theif, Corsair and what have you, but lets have a Geomancer thread.

Geomancer is one of my favorite Final Fantasy Jobs. It get's overlooked a lot. I'd really would like to see it in this game, among other things.

First wave of Jobs are summoner and i think next would be samurai and ninja seeing how so many people want that. But SE would say if there enough support they add it at somepoint.

I should edit that to Second wave. Thanks for the input i hope we can get enough support for Geomancers.

I would if you support Red Mage too. :3

I'm reserving my judgement until I see how it plays in FFXI, since it will be the first MMO version of it. I like the Job generally, but I think XIV is being made too open ended to really support that kind of casting mechanic.

How so? i think Geo's could cast a spell based on the terrain on which they are standing and perhaps weather patterns could increase magic potency or add another spell.

That sounds problematic in indoor or boss fights.. Want to cast X spell but I cant find any damn "X" terrain around or its not raining lol

Indoor like in a cave? or in a stone/wooden structure? The elements are always around us. The atmosphere in a cave could be moisture or fungus ridden.
