I, myself, will be serving a dodo roaster - which has been bathing in a combination sanitizer/marinade for several days now.
What's everyone thankful for?! Give the DEVs something to smile about.
I'm thankful that Yoshida-san's team has seemingly become the personification of a phoenix down on this title, and thankful that the XIV community, however critical, has kept the faith in this game's future long enough to see a beautiful end to 1.X and the roots of A Realm Reborn.
Thank you!
And to you as well. Happy Thanksgiving!
What do you celebrate on the thankgiving day? A day... to give... thanks?
It's... complicated. A lot of cultures celebrate a bountiful harvest with a feast before the winter months. You tend give thanks to the powers that be for these things.
In the US, the tradition changed a bit when our harvests were ANYTHING but bountiful and the natives really did us a solid by giving us their surplus and teaching us some survival skills. This would go on to be pretty much the only shining example of colonial - native relations.
Lincoln made it an official holiday way later and brought the God part front and center, but long story short - winter's coming and everything's dying, so let's all eat a lot and remind ourselves of the good things in life.
Well, today is the day we eat more turkey than any other day in the year and the day we're all will be very sleepy after a feast :)
