I think this was avail in XI but I never even knew about this for a long time after I quit. Will this be possible in ARR as we are getting lots of pallets to work with, 128 macro slots I believe.
Thanks

I don't think it will be a feature available immediately, but I would not expect it to take too long before it's patched into the game.
Their focus is strictly making ARR as good as it can be, while the server-storage of macro's is real nifty, I doubt it's a priority currently.
yeah i hope they add this too, it was really nice back in FFXI. what i've been doing as an alternative, is everytime i know i'm going to playing on a different computer, I'll just e-mail myself my user folder with macros included, and load it up at my destination. tedious, but it's a solution for now.
i really havent made any macros in ffxiv yet. im fine with the action bar.
Macro Pallets need to be available at launch, its a basic need for basic commands. IDK why this would be neglected or forgotten in place of drag & drop icons. It's fundamental for custom actions via scripted commands. It's fun to do too!
i dont understand the point of the macros.. other than gear swaps.
Until we get multiple action bars I will continue to use macros, in ARR I think we can have 3 on the screen so it will be more mouse friendly I believe so I will try and adjust then.
I use the macros for job/gear changes but also for...
Food/Potions/Elixirs. I hate how we have to use the consumable window (U button).
Emotes. Always forget which ones are animated.
Cross-job abilities. I have a few set up that I use on multiple jobs. Sentinel and Second Wind for example. This leaves me with an extra slot on my main action bar and doesn't require me flipping through the 3 to find the button.
Combos. Instead of clicking on all 2-5 action buttons, I have a few combos set up as 1 click buttons.
Spells. When working with a second WHM it helps to let them know if I am casting protect, stoneskin or raise on someone. That way they are not wasting their cast/time as duplication.
