more racial gears set

So i've been wondering. Would it be cool if we have more racial gears to mix and match for our WoLs? I mean beside the fact that the glamour restriction is going to be removed, i don't know about the racial gears.

If it can't be done. Then i hope they will make more gear set for each playable races.

We still have the locked hempen sets that look like underwear, if that counts? I feel like they will keep the starter racial sets locked since it's the few items that are locked since the start already, and we don't need to see a Lala wearing the viera starter set for our poor eyes.

Fun Fact, that is because in v1 we had underwear slots! Hempen iirc were the only ones we had since it went into reboot mode before more could be added, but I could be mistaken. We had a lot more gear slots at og release before they switched gear to be the most boring gearing system in the history of mmos.

As to the OP, yes we def should have more racial gear sets and they should be locked to that race.

Not really, because if only 1 race can wear it then it's a waste of effort, IMHO, and even vieras didn't get the unique hempen sets they are copies of existing sets already in-game. I'd only be OK if SE said we're going to unlock the existing hempen sets for everyone.

I think each clan should have a unique set. They can still be equipped by both clans.

I also don't buy that the starting clothes are racial sets. It's the traditional clothing of two separate clans yet the only person to ever wear it is you?

I'm a little torn, because racial sets can be cool, like GW2 cultural sets and WoW heritage sets. But I feel like XIV just doesn't have the interesting diversity between races or immersion into races as GW2 or WoW has, so we'd just end up with more generically good pieces of glamour arbitrarily locked to certain races, kind of like the current racial starter sets.

So I think I'd say no to XIV having new racial sets, and instead yes to new grand company sets, because I feel like those more so fit the role of racial gear since the game puts more emphasis on your city state choice rather than your race choice.

I would ADORE more racial culture, including traditional costumes or accessories or anything embellishing for each of our clans.

Honestly it's painful how little culture we get! ;~;

i think they should indeed creat new gear inspired by the different races. but it should be wearable by everyone. like as a reward for a questline during which we interacted with that specific culture.
they could expand this to non player races too.

They should just remove the race/gender lock on the race sets. I don't see any reason to have it now anymore since they unlocked job sets even.
