more racial gears set

So i've been wondering. Would it be cool if we have more racial gears to mix and match for our WoLs? I mean beside the fact that the glamour restriction is going to be removed, i don't know about the racial gears.

If it can't be done. Then i hope they will make more gear set for each playable races.

We still have the locked hempen sets that look like underwear, if that counts? I feel like they will keep the starter racial sets locked since it's the few items that are locked since the start already, and we don't need to see a Lala wearing the viera starter set for our poor eyes.

Not really, because if only 1 race can wear it then it's a waste of effort, IMHO, and even vieras didn't get the unique hempen sets they are copies of existing sets already in-game. I'd only be OK if SE said we're going to unlock the existing hempen sets for everyone.

Fun Fact, that is because in v1 we had underwear slots! Hempen iirc were the only ones we had since it went into reboot mode before more could be added, but I could be mistaken. We had a lot more gear slots at og release before they switched gear to be the most boring gearing system in the history of mmos.

Then you had to collect cotton, make a cotton tuft and then repair the top, then collect animal skin, make it into leather and make that into leather strips to repair the bottoms...

It'll be interesting to see if things like race specific gear or GC gear get unlocked, I think they just said class/job/level restrictions are going away.

The swimsuits from the firefall faire were also worn in the underwear slot.

Not gonna lie, I kinda want the underwear slots back and for them to be expanded on. Changing out the default underwear from many of the current skirts to bloomers, tights, etc. would give a lot of extra customization options that I'd happily take. Expand that to some of the more low cut tops like the Uraeus Coat to change the bra to whatever we want (like a more modest tanktop or a potentially skimpier bra if one was more inclined). Then for something extra, a socks slot so I can have thigh-highs on whatever skirt I please, or to let us have sandals with socks for the sake of it. About the only reason I can think of for why we don't have this is either: 1, server limitations. 2, rating board limitations (I'm not entirely sure on this, but I wouldn't be surprised if some ratings board would up the age rating for this kind of customization.) 3, too much effort to redo much of the gear to make it compatible with underwear choices (since a lot of them are just attached to the gear itself.)

Even still, one can dream.

Also yes, while I'm very appreciative of Square removing a lot of the restrictions on gear over the past couple of expansions, I do think having more unique racial gear would be nice to have. There's nothing really special about the hempen sets that makes me think "yes, only a Roegadyn or Elezen could wear that," and so I would rather those get unlocked, but the starting racial gear feels meaningful as something that a new adventurer of that race would choose to wear, and I think it'd be better to have more gear that shows off the culture of those races, and compliments their unique features. Imagine getting headgear for Au Ra that doesn't clip the horns, but actually adorns and works with the horns, same with Viera or Miqo'te ears. The various tails, including proper tail holes for once on Au Ra and Miqo'te. It's understandable why Square doesn't do more racial gear, why spend time making all these limited sets when you could just make several universal glamours for the same timeframe? Even still, racial gear does add an extra appreciation for the choice the player chose back in CC, so I don't think it's entirely misplaced to make them.

I think each clan should have a unique set. They can still be equipped by both clans.

I also don't buy that the starting clothes are racial sets. It's the traditional clothing of two separate clans yet the only person to ever wear it is you?
