Translation inconsistencies of pvp tooltips on cleansing status effects
EN pvp tooltips referring to the cleansing of negative status effects (like stun, heavy, silence, etc) all tend to use different wordings to describe the same effect, or worse, can also use the same wording to describe different effects, which can be extremely misleading if players see a different effect in the game than what is described in their tooltips.
PURIFY
Quote:
Removes Stun, Heavy, Bind, Silence, Deep Freeze, and Miracle of Nature.
Additional Effect: Grants Resilience
Resilience Effect: Nullifies status afflictions that can be removed by Purify, as well as knockback and draw-in effects.
Ingame effect: both removes all status effects AND acts as a ward preventing further application of new status effects.
-> uses the word "Removes" to describe the removal of status effects that are already present.
-> uses the word "Nullifies" to describe a ward preventing the application of new status effects.
MEIKYO SHISUI
Quote:
Grants Meikyo Shisui.
Meikyo Shisui Effect: Nullifies status afflictions that can be removed by Purify, as well as knockback and draw-in effects
Ingame effect: acts as a ward preventing the application of status effects.
-> uses the word "Nullifies" to describe a ward preventing the application of new status effects.
WARDEN'S PAEAN
Quote:
Removes one status affliction from self or target party member that can be removed by Purify. If a status affliction cannot be removed, creates a barrier that will nullify the next status affliction that can be removed by Purify.
Ingame effect: removes one status effect, and only if none were removed, then acts as a ward against the application of the next status effect. This acts like Purify except it only works for a single status effect.
-> uses the word "Removes" to describe the removal of status effects that are already present.
-> uses the word "Nullifies" to describe a ward preventing the application of new status effects.
AQUAVEIL
Quote:
Creates a barrier around self or target party member that absorbs damage equivalent to a heal of 8,000 potency.
Duration: 10s
Additional Effect: Nullifies one status affliction that can be removed by Purify
Barrier potency is doubled when successfully nullifying a status affliction.
Ingame effect: removes one status effect.
-> uses the word "Nullifies" to describe the removal of status effects that are already present, which is the opposite of the terminology used for the previous abilities. If it was consistent with those, it would use the word "Removes" instead of "Nullifies".
INNER RELEASE
Quote:
Inner Release Effect: Increases the potency of Primal Rend, Primal Ruination, Inner Chaos, and Chaotic Cyclone, while also increasing movement speed by 25%, and granting immunity to Stun, Heavy, Bind, Silence, Half-asleep, Sleep, Deep Freeze, and knockback and draw-in effects
Ingame effect: removes any status effect and acts as a ward preventing the application of new status effects (works like Purify).
-> uses a completely different wording and terminology to describe exactly the same thing as what Purify does.
SWIFT
Quote:
Increases movement speed by 100% and grants immunity to Stun, Heavy, Bind, Silence, Half-asleep, Sleep, Deep Freeze, and knockback and draw-in effects.
Ingame effect: only acts as a ward preventing the application of new status effects.
-> uses a completely different wording and terminology to describe exactly the same thing as what Meikyo Shisui does.

Note: the French localization is a little better but also shows a lack of consistency. I do not know about the other localizations.
