Once again asking for cross region DC travel

It's been mentioned before that apparently the only reason we don't have cross region DC travel is because the equivalent of a switch isn't flipped.

I don't want to have to maintain a 2nd character which will never have anywhere near the glamour etc as my main just to play with my friends overseas.

Our only option is for all of us to suffer bad ping on Australia servers instead of just one of us.

I would love to know what it would actually take to enable travel between regions even if it's just a test like cloud datacenters were.

Watch it, they might delete this thread too.

Even if they tested it between NA and EU or OCE and EU, that'd be a start. My understanding is that they're concerned about "cultural differences" i.e. the Japanese regional players don't want to interact with the Westerners. But that argument has always fallen flat to me because nothing is stopping Western players from making characters in JP servers anyway sooooo....

Didn't he bring that up once?? I feel like that subject came up, but I cannot remember which live he said it. I feel as though it was back when he was announcing Dawntrail. Whatever the case, I feel as though it's in the works, but like many other things, it is not getting the attention that it needs. Everything is snails pace now. FFXIV has no sense of urgency about anything anymore.

It has nothing to do with the "woke" thing lol. How embarrassing for you that that even crossed your mind. It's about the difference in server culture, which admittedly IS very different, but shouldn't be a reason they don't open up DC travel. We did well enough with the cloud server tests.

we did yes but it is one part yes and also how different both side play the games to like holy cow it is really different
