Fisher stellar missions needs an overhall

Under the current system, many of the mission require you to catch certain fish within an extremely small amount of time, and it's made worse by the fact that the reeling animation takes so long to complete that there is a higher chance of players running out of time during the reeling animation (and not have the hooked fish count, even if it is correct) than getting gold.
Add to that the blocker for abandoning a time/weather limited mission (cause the run became impossible) and the having to wait around for GP to regenerate, cause the anglers arts are removed upon end of mission, and it overall becomes the hardest class to get a cosmic tool on.


It seems that whomever actually made this, forgot that fishing relies on pure RNG.


Also, Stellar hookset is useless, especially with it'sfull length reeling animation and 60 second cooldown.
Maybe replace it with something like Stellar Patience, with double the length of time and a buff reducing hook time (which can stack with chum)

Fishing mostly relies on using the correct "tactics" paired with some rng.

uhm, stellar hookset is extremely usefull and fishing there doesnt rely on "pure rng"
You always have 1-2 fish in the pool that give large margins of points, that you can separate from the other fish by knowing their tug timers and bites. Also make use of your lvl 100 skills to get the tugs that you are looking for and slap one that you dont want before.
If you got a good fish then identical cast it. If you got the green one, then its even worth waiting 40 secs to get another stellar hookset going for maximum points

fishing is mostly knowing the fish and using the appropriate tactics there

Who the hell cares about stellar missions now we got Crescent explorations XD God forbid they'll come up with Solar Expeditions next XD

You can get around the abandoning, actually. Just leave the instance and come back (queue into something and leave).
Regen waiting is an issue, but in truth there's a lot of missions where you really don't need max gp + a hi-cordial to complete.
Fisher has - once again - probably become one of the easiest to get the cosmic tool on.

To expand on what Server Collaps said, the Fisher missions are really no different from all the other class missions - they are testing your understanding of your classes skills and how to handle different situations with them. I can say with a lot of confidence that the Fisher stellar missions are some of the best fishing content added to the game ever, no contest.

Saying FSH is complete RNG therefore implying that the CE FSH missions are as well is not anything but disingenuous.
CE FSH missions are extremely formulaic and yet this is not actually a negative. They do, however, require some form of understanding of how FSH works so CE is a great environment to either demonstrate or gain this understanding.
Look at an overview of the contents of any mission without ever doing it and if you understand how FSH works, you have an idea of how to approach the mission.

There's RNG to every mission but the whole point of FSH's toolkit is to use it to mitiage that RNG, and you can on many missions do this so you have a 100% completion rate on them. Even the mission that leans into RNG the most and is the most inconsistent to gold (A-3: Palus Arsenici Ecological Survey with Eyeballingway) has optimisation that can be done 100% of the time you do it to produce a notably higher success rate than not using said optimisation.
A lot of the optimising that can be done on FSH missions is so simple, SE really isn't asking for much. Ambitious/Modest Lure here, Prize Catch there, Triple Hook over here - they're asking you to push the buttons of the class you're playing, that's not a lot and it's what they're asking for DoH and MIN/BTN as well.
Some of the class A FSH missions severely benefit from a strategic combination of abilities, seems pretty reasonable to me when the D - B ones are basically a build up showcasing all of them in action.

I've mostly leveled my FSH by way of leves. The most fishing I've ever done was in Diadem.

In the past three days of my getting my FSH to the Cosmic Tool and A rank, I learned a lot more about the class. Some of this was due to experimentation and then with equal parts research and asking other players in zone or in a DoL linkshell.

From my limited perspective, there are aspects of RNG in there, but I've managed to get gold on most A-1 missions by just doing keeping some notes on what I did to succeed at any given mission. And I'm not even into what the previous player mentioned about knowing what sort of fish is on the line based on how long it took for it to bite.

If someone just wants the tool and that's it, most of the B,C, D missions are fairly easy to do. And you can always just spam missions you feel comfortable completing in the A/B rank for the Tier IV/III experience needed to get the Cosmic Tool.

I actually really like how difficult these missions are.

My problem is how the crafter/miner/botanist missions are not on this level. This makes for actually engaging gatherer/crafter gameplay, not rote button pressing mostly macro'd. Sad that they'll probably nerf fisher instead. :<

Fishing levels WAY faster than mining or botany. It makes up for this by being more frustrating and granting more missions failed.

But even so it STILL levels quicker.

*shrug* I just recently went through the trouble of getting my relic for all three gatherers. The FSH relic was, by far, the easiest and fastest for me to get. I was in Orange Script gear, if that means anything.

Just like many of the stellar missions, the FSH missions are puzzles. Once you figure out the solution to the puzzle (or just look it up), you can complete the missions fairly easily.
