Should SE scale high end content difficulty towards the usage of SIM ?

Hi,

I've recently seen a lot of people using SIM (Reddit/Discord/Forums) for FRU

Si I've been asking myself if SE should scale high end content (savage & ultimate) with the usage of SIM in mind ? I want harder content (Neither I nor my static are using SIM) and sadly FRU/M1s-M4s feels way easier than DSR/P1s-P4s. So players like me who wants harder content will be happy, and others players could use SIM to make fights "easier".

The obvious answer is no, as console players do not necessarily have a PC, but we could also say that for all 3rd party tools available for PC players.

What do you think about it ?

The Difference is Third Party Tools are literally not needed at all to clear current Content so even when PC Player can use them and Consoleplayer not, its not needed so its fine, but with SIM it would completly change.


And P1-4 was not really harder then the current Tier Mech wise, the issue is was that they overdid it with Picto and the Buffs so there wasnt a DPS Check at all.

The fact that using a sim is the optimal way to play the game shows just how bad modern raiding is.

How about SE not assume players are using third-party tools to make encounters easier until they provide their own official marketplace for them?

Why even play a game, if playing the game itself is so unappealing? This is like letting ChatGPT write all assignments.

Not really. The ability to practice a later segment of something in isolation without having to go through the whole thing to get there is always advantageous. This applies to literally anything, not just raiding. It's no different from a musician practising a passage from the end of a difficult piece of music on its own.

I also honestly don't see the issue with it, obviously it should not affect their content balancing since all that tool really does is let you practice mechanics on your own.

You're still just practicing movement and you ultimately still need to do the real fight in-game.

No, 3rd party tools are not supported and shouldn't be. They were inadvertently since SE looks at clear data for balance but I think they've gotten smarter now.

Balancing around simulators and automarker or aoe showing boss mod plugins just makes the game less fun all around for anyone playing vanilla. Never, it should never be done and anyone who uses these should know they are throwing off the balance of the fights on purpose so they can get easier clears.

If it feels too easy it's 100% on them for installing tools that trivialize mechanics and parts of the difficulty.

Perhaps it should be on SE to try something different in terms of encounter design, or to add more features to the game.

For example, SE could provide better mechanisms for restarting an encounter from a particular point in time. If extremes, savages, and ultimates are embellished retellings of what "actually happened," then restarting an encounter from some point in the middle is simply, "Wait, what was I saying? Let me pick that up again."

Yeah, FF14 is "dance" type mechanic, Wow for instance is more "gameplay" type of mechanic
