Please fix Ninja's Shukuchi

Because why am I still getting hit seconds after using it? This used to not be a problem before the 7.1 changes. No matter when I try to time my Shukuchis now, I'm still getting hit out of them like I'm still targetable even though the enemy is far away from me. I can understand being hit out of it if you use it right as someone is hitting you (that was still a thing before if you time poorly), but now it's like I use it, and 2-3 seconds after using it I get hit out of it somehow??? Even if the enemy is far??
Shukuchi is supposed to make you untargetable as soon as you use it and remove someone's target from you, yet it's not doing that whatsoever, at least not anymore or consistently.

Unfortunately, 7.1 PvP is working on quantum rather than classical principles in which the value of Planck's constant is extremely high. The net result is an intrinsic uncertainty in the product of position and velocity so extreme that it would be rejected by amateur Jell-O wrestlers.

It was a definitely the same "problem" before the 7.1 changes too because damage has always resolved with a delay, but since the delays increased, then yes it will happen more, and call me a contrarian but I think this is a good thing. Shukuchi isn't a free escape -> hide button and shouldn't hide you when you're under fire.

And it does actually remove the target onto the NIN using it. It's actually very annoying when you're trying to line bursts into them because one of your skills will instead go land onto someone else once your target has vanished from targeting. Being breaking target lock for a couple of seconds =/= hiding and shouldn't be.

I'm not saying it's a free escape. I'm just saying why am I getting hit out of hide about 2-3 seconds after using Shukuchi? How is a ranged player still able to attack me with a single target attack?
I had a moment in CC Cloud Nine where I was behind a wall, a BLM was on the other end of the wall so I used my Shukuchi to sneak away from them. I was sure they couldn't get me at that point, but they somehow still hit me out of hide with a single target hit when I wasn't under fire to begin with. I don't get any lag or latency, my ping is perfectly fine.

It's just the way the game handles priority for hit detection unfortunately, far as the server's concerned, the attack was still able to connect retroactively, the usual offender is abilities with no cast time with additional effects. BLM for example, all of their ice casts are instant from the moment the button is pressed, and the fire damage from Fire Wreath which you'll usually see paired with it automatically follows 1-3 seconds after regardless of your stealth status - that more than likely was the actual hit that broke your stealth. Outside of this, BLM has to guess where you are with Burst, the only freeform short-range cast they have which is utterly unreliable if you keep moving, otherwise they literally cannot attack you as everything else they have requires a target.

My advice, loathe as I am to give as I dislike ninja's snapshots as a BLM main. :P

Break line of sight before trying to stealth, like hard enough so that no player can even try to attack you despite what tab target likes to insist, if you can safely cast elixir a tiny bit without interrupt you're golden. The delay in additional damage effects (which are basically just extra attacks as opposed to DoTs) is pretty significant this patch, so play it just a bit safer and you should be fine.

I think it's just something you're noticing now but has always been the norm. Shukuchi gives stealth, but it doesn't cancel out incoming damage so stealth is often instantly revealed if a lot of people are hitting you when you cast it. Some spells have quite delayed damage now so it may be more noticeable? To effectively use Shukuchi I suggest to teleport to break line of sight. Breaking line of sight makes you almost invulnerable so Shukuchi will always be good for that.

Because the attack was used before you actually used shukuchi. Blame the animation delays.

Given how spammy pvp is and the sheer amount of aoe abilities, resolution of escapes and defensive abilities should take precedence over attack abilities. A well timed escape should be rewarded.

As it stands zerging results in effortless kills and risk taking is punished. It makes Frontline a miserable experience where nobody ever wants to take initiative and do anything risky.

Better pvp games such a overwatch go to great length to ensure that for instance a reaper using their defensive ability during the same server frame as a sniper headshotting them takes precedence. Ffxiv should learn from them.

Note that I said hide, and not escape. I'm perfectly happy with Sukuchi allowing for a teleport escape, which on top of it has the spicy little effect to break targeting (it's a lot more annoying than you think when you're attacking the Nin, you need to find where they teleported first then manage to retarget them, and a lot of your burst may have gone on the wrong target in the meantime). I don't think that sukuchi's primary effect should be hiding the Nin on top of it when it's about escaping under fire, only when used to sneak around and about, but I guess that's just me.

Of course if it's about FL... Well, I don't have an opinion there, but the game is designed and balanced around CC, not FL. If you change jobs in one way or another, you tamper with balance in CC. Although let's be honest if you're trying to run the heck away in FL, the last thing you want to do is hide when the enemy blob is moving toward you anyway. You just want to run the hell away.
