So i can honestly only go by what ive seen, but is anyone else thinking that 2.0 will get pushed back during the time servers are shut down? Not that getting push back would be a problem at all. I know there has been 2.0 demos at E3 and other events but all ive seen is the trailer on the teaser site. Maybe im missing somthing but are they really going to shut down 1.0 in less than three months and we all still have seen pretty much NOTHING of what the game will actually play like? I've been playing this game since release and would still keep playing even if there was no 2.0, it just seems odd to me that a company would state that soon they're going to shut down there product and still keep so many of the closest and most loyal customers in the dark? I would much rather keep playing 1.0 vs nothing. Regardless this game is bada#* and the current dev team have made massive strides improving it since release. But come on it's SE we all know there has to be some delay........right?

Last I heard it's estimated that 1.0 servers are going down around the beginning of Jan. Yoshida stated it could take a month to get 2.0 up and running. I always expect for the worst so I expect it to take longer. I don't realistically expect to see 2.0 before the middle of march.

Middle of march? Considering the 'free trial period' for 2.0 is meant to be in december/jan, I don't see how you get that?

We are fairly on track for the roadmap if you think about recent developments.
Don't forget 1.0 and 2.0 have different teams working on them, a delay from 1.0 does not have a knock on effect to 2.0, not to mention, once 1.0 is shut down, all of those team members will presumably move onto 2.0

He's saying open beta in jan there, how is that pushed back? it's exactly what I said ? december/jan.
Open beta is pretty much 2.0 live, even if we have fresh chars for 2.0 it'll still be fun to play, then when beta is over we get our old chars back, oooor we start with our current chars in open beta. Either way it's not that long a wait at all.
They're gonna be shooting for an xmas launch / beta release imo, its a time for huge booms in sales and exposure due to everyone being on holiday and giving gifts. -

Misunderstandings here, I consider open beta to be the game launch, for mmo's open beta is far more important than store releases these days.
