This is not an error and it's not a recent change. It has been "Venture Bothers" since 2014. It's a reference to how some of the retainer personalities think the ventures you send them on are a waste of time / a bother.
...or maybe it's just a reference to an adult swim cartoon.

I WISH I could believe that it were in-line with your characterization, I genuinely do, because that would denote character on the part of the textual content, rather than being a lazy reference.
There's nothing deep here. It's just a play on words, and it's not uncommon in this game if you look around carefully.
The words make sense within the context of the game (they have to; there's no habit of breaking the fourth wall). If you happen to recognize the thing they're playing off, that's just a little bonus.
Another example: Paring is Caring. Literally describes the leve, which also has elements of the reference (sharing is caring).
I prefer not to look too hard, otherwise I just get annoyed and close the game.
You call it a 'bonus', but I just don't think Western pop culture references belong in a JRPG set in a fantasy setting. I find it immersion-breaking and I just don't think it's all that funny.
It'd be one thing if it were done to replace what was another pop-culture reference in the JP script, but that's not always the case.
"memba the Simpsons?"
"memba Family Guy?"
"memba <insert movie title>"
Things that are mere wordplay are less offensive, but still grating. I'd like to have it be what it is, and nothing more or less.
