weekly caps

Am i the only one tired of the weekly caps for gear drops / tomes ?

arcadian just dropped. and i can only get one piece of gear per floor.

need 2 or 4 pieces to get 1 piece of gear for 1 job.

it's so frustrating, I understand there needs to be some restrictions.

but come on, we have 21 fricken jobs.

we have 5 role categories. and what 7 gear categories? i may be wrong.

i would love to see like 2 or three pieces per floor. and that would still take multiple weeks to gear out other jobs.

this is of course my opinion, i understand some people only play 1 class or role. but the restriction really kills any desire to participate more than once

Well, first of all, you don't need all pieces for every job since not all pieces are BiS, you want a mix of raid/tomes/crafted gear, depending on the slot.

Agree.

There's no reason to enter any of the raids after having received loot for the week. And you have to play them week after week after week just to get one full set for a class, while you may be playing multiple classes. The restriction just seems so arbitrary.

That's only relevant for people that care about BiS. Some people just want the glams. Some just want a reason to play the content more than once per week.

I think the Tome Cap is too low as well, i remember at the end of Shadowbringers they raised it to 900 which was quite a lot per week.


Here is the main Reason why the tome cap isn't higher:

It is a sole business reason, to make people subscribe longer to the game.


What i would wish for was a completly overhaul of the current system, instead of a weekly cap, they need to do a TOTAL cap that increases by the weekly cap each week.
This means you don't fall behind in case you can't play the game fr a week, you can just farm the tomestones later and the total amount of tomestones if eual for all players.

Example:
I will travel to Japan for 3 weeks this year, which means i can't play the game at all during this time, so i will miss the tomestones for those 3 weeks and never have a chance to get them back.

It would look like this over the course of 20 weeks:

yea if you wanna min max bis. sure. but the thing is. it's a small percentage of the playerbase that even cares about this. personally i will only care about this for my main job. but for the others jobs would be nice to get the glams easier and gear them up without all the extra bs. i just end up buying the crafted gear and stop going into the raids entirely except for prog nights. and it's a shame, they are great fun fights on normal.

double those numbers and it's looking a lil better.

This is the sort of post I wish players would get behind instead of "this npc sucks"...

With this system if you like having the best gear you can get for the roles you enjoy without playing savage, you can take care of 3 roles max before the next patch hits, if I remember correctly

i get that, but it's beyond frustrating. they keep adding more jobs but do not adjust the caps to align with the increased requirements to gear. it just turns me off that if you miss a week, ya already lagging behind.

Firstly the smart thing to do since a few sets require 4 pieces is roll for all the pieces on the first m1 and whatever u get go for that piece again for m2, m3, m4, unless u get earing then u can gather a head 2 piece for m2 m3 and then another earing since those take 1 piece each. Or try and roll for all chest or leg pieces and pass on the others and then u could rety til u get what u need avoiding locking ur piece set for thst week
