Gunbreaker Bloodfest should grant three free uses instead of three carts

I think bloodfest should grant three free usages of cart spending abilities, instead of the three carts it does today. Think of them as like three fake cartridges detached from your gauge.

Right now when bloodfest is coming up you need to dump your gauge then bloodfest to not overcap on carts. Which can be very clunky depending on downtime mechanics.

I think instead, bloodfest should grant you three fake carts detached from your gauge, so then you can go into bloodfest with however many carts in your gauge as you happen at that moment and still be able to burst and not overcap your gauge when pressing bloodfest.

When you play Gunbreaker to its fullest potential there won't be a massive difference with this change, but it will make recovering from mistakes or deaths a lot easier. I think it would make the job less rigid on where and how we can use bloodfest, and I can't really think of any downsides to it (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

This could also fix those certain situations where just before the bloodfest burst window you are only able to pull 2 carts before the burst because of downtime (P9S limitcut as an example) where you then have to akwardly improvise a burst to not overcap. With this change I'm proposing you could just press bloodfest when downtime is done, have 2 real carts and then 3 fake carts so you can spend 1 real on gnashing fang, and then 1 real and one fake on double down, and the rest however you want.

The same idea has already been added to Redmage and Reaper in DT, and I feel like Gunbreaker could really benefit from this change given how rigid it feels to play.
A change like this would make it easier to recover from mistakes or deaths and make us not have to delay bloodfest and just be able to use it whenever we want and not when the rotation allows for it.

Having to sometimes adjust your rotation isn't "clunk". I'm so tired of this incessant need to make every fight feel like a training dummy.

What's even the point of having a resource if you make it practically impossible to overcap? You might as well give GNB its version of a Fell Cleave spam button at that point. I mean, it will probably happen sooner or later anyway, as it did to all the other tanks. You are just detaching yet another cooldown button from any kind of mechanical interaction with the rest of the kit.

The problem is that Gunbreaker needs 100% of their gauge to even burst at all and they have double down which spends two, and with the current number of carts needed to burst and how many you can generate and spend during your filler, there is no wiggle room at all.
Level 90 2.50sks Gnb can spend one cart on gnashing fang when it comes off cooldown outside no mercy, then they need to stockpile the rest of the carts for the nm window, with the only spots where you can stockpile a cart being the 3 and 9 minute window, and those carts have to be spent immedately anyway to not overcap and then delay your nm one gcd. So it's not really like you can keep the cart for later, only difference it makes is that you can miss a gdc and still be fine during your filler since then you don't need to spend a cart to then get one back after and then burst.
This is not an issue that lvl 80 gunbreaker had since doubledown wasn't a thing yet.
The changes I'm proposing could lead to gunbreaker being able to do their burst at all if the fight didn't allow them to build carts in their filler. And it would at least make us not have to do the AOE combo instead to generate a cart more quickly in some circumstances.
With lvl 100 gunbreaker we can keep however many carts we want from the bloodfest nm window since it's not going to fit anyway or save more than 1 if you're running faster than 2.45.

What you are saying is it has skill expression.

Being able to burst or not at all is not a skill expression thing.

Also, Bloodfest's recast timer belongs at 90 seconds, not the 120 they upped it to with 6.2, which made it the highest recast timer for skills that fill the job gauge. That hurt the play flow by requiring you to do more repititions of the basic 1-2-3 combo 33% more often (and more often than the other tanks). It says that this change was compensated at that time with upping the potency of some skills, except that doesn't matter because *how the job feels to play* is more important than tuning to damage numbers and burst phases. It's a big downtime valley before you get Bloodfest back, and it's a bad grind to build up those charges more often.

If you are dropping burst altogether because you have to delay Bloodfest or spend a cartridge ahead of time, that's a 100% skill issue.

Literally what does it matter if GNB in certain scenarios can't do an ideal burst, and it's up to player foresight to adjust to the next best thing, when it's the top DPS tank anyway? Point to me on FFLogs in what content this fight-specific downtime is suddenly ruining GNB output.

what is the skill issue when the boss decides that you can't attack it?
