Discuss : is ffxiv in trouble

So the context is a little self explanatory but if requested I can explain in detail.

Given the way the game currently works right now using stb/shb and ew as a point of reference. And what we've seen on dawntrail thus far. Do you personally think the game is in trouble or in danger of failing/deing due to it.

What do you predict will happen to 14 in 3 or 5 years. Do you think it can change? Or will. Do you think the games health is impacting the mogstation too?

What could the devs do to improve the game? Or are people blowing things out the water? I'd love to hear your thoughts

I’d say the game has peaked (population and content quality wise) but it will be a long long time before the game is any real danger

Do we really need another thread for people to bemoan the state of healers, body check obsession, destruction of summoner, general quality of reworked jobs, lack of player agency, dearth of content with legs, lack of interaction with other players etc?

Isn't that the point of a discussion forum

Game needs hella work under the hood. Lots of qol that hasn't been added or fixed since ever despite some of the things being talked about and requested since at least hw. Dumbing down the game dumbed down the playerbase and now we got a buncha dumb problems. There's gonna be a big change before long, but I'm not worried that it'll fail. It'll take a decently made MMO coming out that takes a chunk of this playerbase away before they actually start listening as much as they should

I don't feel the need to justify my posts. I could just ask wats the point of this comment since it's not like I can delete it. Shaming me isn't gona prevent more of these posts as ppl continue to voice there mind about things effecting the game
If they bother u so much its best to just ignore them or not engage. By bumping them u just put them on the front page

Oh look, it's this thread again.... another Chicken Little thread claiming the sky is falling and FFXIV IS DOOMED....

Don't listen to Chicken Little, the game isn't in trouble. Can it be improved? Of course it can. But the so-called 'issues' constantly brought up are entirelly subjective and only based on personal preferences and gameplay styles. If the game really was so bad, why are servers still congested? Why is Balmung still locked? Because people are still having fun.

Everyone move along. Nothing more to see here.

U didn't read it at all did you. Because i never once superimposed my thoughts about the game here. Genuinely think u didn't read past the title. But please feel free to quote me

Also this is a complete strawman argument defending something nobody even said. Firstly. Balmung is congested because everyone wants to go there for its reputation.

What's with the move along comment too. Why are you so insistent on shutting down criticism of the game before its even been posted

The whole community part will keep this game alive. Good looking characters / races, glamour, emotes, housing, music... You really can live in this game and hang out with your friends. Alone that you can look at each other when you sit around a table. This game feels alive.

Then of course the whole subscription model and no shady pay to win stuff.

Even when the gameplay sucks this game has too much speaking for it.

But - they can't just keep this for granted forever. When someone else comes along and does it better (or nearly as good) but with better gameplay then FF14 could be in trouble. The game could be better. But there is no better option out there.
