An underwater city ? possible new expansion zone ideas

So, ffxiv is kinda all about exploring new places and we've seen a lot. But we haven't had any underwater city exploration despite the fact we can breathe under the sea. Couldnt we have a cool expansion going to the sahagin homeworld with mermaids and sea dragons. Glams made of conchshells, coral and pearls. Armours with fins and serpentine spikes. Maybe this is a me thing, but I'd love if they could put this idea on the table at some point. Atlantas is a viable city we could explore, we know there's undersea civilizations and honestly.. I want a mermaid tail accessory so.. God imagine if they made underwater combat for it. Now you have undersea dungeons and maps too. So much potential really

Idk. If you like this idea leave a like. Also. What places would YOU like to see. I'd also like to see EGYPT represented in ffxiv.

Yeah, would like an underwater city. But a lot of changes would be necessary (underwater combat, in particular, unless the city is an exclusive zone).

Otherwise, I'd like some really mountainous areas. The flight would have to be quick to unlock so as not to tire players, but we haven't really seen any so far.

It would be good if we had more underwater stuff where the water is still actually there, like when you're diving in The Ruby Sea. But it seems if they do a city they are more likely to do what they did with The Ruby Sea and The Tempest and create bubbles around them.

It would be interesting with underwater battles but at the moment they seem to just always make it with an air pocket so we can move and battle normally.

If we end up with more underwater exploration all I'd really like is more things to look at lol. We know Square can do massive underwater areas but leave them basically lifeless (which I wonder if it's a constraint to still make things work on older PCs/console). I'd rather not have more exploration if they can't somehow go beyond what they did with the Ruby Sea. Outside of Beast Tribes, I have almost no reason to return (i.e. I like to run around Elpis a lot because the environment is gorgeous) and that's kinda sad.

They actually said that, because of the graphics update, they will be able to add more objects to the environment. So it is a limitation of the Minimum and Recommend specs that they confine themselves to. By increasing those self-imposed limitations, they will be able to place more things on the screen.

amourat isnt an underwater city. its a city thats under water. there is kinda a difference. an underwater city ususally implies an entire civilization living there

elips / amourat are inspired by ancient greece, possibly even in reference to atlantas since it did have insane tech advancement and it did sink the bottom of the sea. idk unless we find more greek places we may not see that archetecture again. and yes that saddens me too

Depends if you consider summoned creatures as real. In any case, there is Sui-no-Sato and to a lesser extent, Tamamizu.

Considering this game's absolute refusal to allow any sort of verticality at all in fights, I cant see swimming combat ever being a thing as thats essentially the same thing.
