Scholars used to be awesome; I hope 7.0 goes back to the basics.

Remember back in 4.0 when we were a poison based class with solid dps, a more than adequate healing kit, and we felt like we had an identity that went deeper than cosmetics and skill animations? IF I could change anything, I'd never have let Yoshi-P touch healers with those abominable hominization changes...I'm so freaking sick of spamming "1" with a single, wimpy dot to cycle.

I truly miss playing the SCH back then. I actually looked forward to playing it, it was legitimately fun. Now I have to force myself to play a healer instead. The best thing 7.0 could do for healers is to go back to the basics and stop over simplifying everything.

Brain dead, spammy gameplay is the absolute worst.

At best, they'll look into healer kits in 8.0, if at all. So prepare to suffer for 2 (3?) more years

Be prepared for round 2 of : " There wasn't much we could do for scholar. ".

This seems to unfortunately be the future for most jobs, call me a pessimist but I expect this to no longer be limited to just the healer role.

I'll gladly eat my words if Dawntrail ends up not following their trajectory since Shadowbringers of making every role and job a mindless spam fest.

Probably won’t happen. I think one of the major reasons why sch was changed so drastically was because the devs felt sch always left most of the healing to their whm/ast co-healers while they mostly only did damage. Now don’t shoot the messenger here. I’m not saying I agree with how they destroyed this job. Just saying it’s a comment/reason why they did what they did. The fairy was OP for a very long time. Eos/Selene pretty much could heal their little hearts out and the sch didn’t need to do much healing. They nerfed and nerfed until they just sorta killed the fairy now. I do miss old sch though but don’t think we will ever get that back sadly.

I actually remember that being stated as the reason for why Energy Drain got it's potency nerfed in ShB...but then you looked at SCH logs and saw that they actually did most of the healing and you immediately had to question if the devs even played their own game.

I remember that lol. Was kinda funny. They wanted scholars to heal more which was why they nerfed energy drain. I couldn’t believe it when it actually happened.
