What's on your DT Limited Job Wishlist?

Not simply just "what job do you want," but everything. Gear category, content they can access, level cap, unlockables, progression, etc..

Personally, I'd mainly just want it to be as far from Blue Mage as possible, and in no way similar to it's spell-learning progression system. Preferably more overworld-focused, as we initially thought BLU would be, but I realize the monkey's paw is going to curl there... The last thing I want is another reason to grind the same fates over and over again, again.

I would like a new set of blue carnival style stages focused on the new limited job.

I'd like to say that it's very likely to be beast master due to the heavy demand, but during the Fanfest today when they said: "Ok beast master but what else" it felt like they were saying "Beast master is cool but that's not what we're currently working on. Does anyone have guesses that might actually turn true to what we're working on?"

Of course, this could be me overthinking. Either ways I'm looking forward to seeing a new job introduced in-game regardless of it being limited or not :)

I would like them to stop burning job concepts on 'limited job', I don't see the point in adding a class that cannot do the same 'endgame' as everyone else is able to, it relegates it to being a niche side activity. 'Oh but not being constrained by fight design means it can be unique', BLU's been bursting at the 2min mark since yonks ago, it was the 2min meta before the 2min meta even became a thing

The absolute worst fate I can imagine for a job anyone hopes for, is for it to be revealed as a limited job. The long break made me think that maybe SE had realised they're a terrible idea, but nope, now they add a new one and double down. And the best part is, where does that leave the first one, BLU? They're going to be splitting their already-constrained devtime between BLU and the new one now. Or, since one more update will have BLU at 90, maybe the plan is to just have one patch for BLU per expansion now?

If I had to choose one job and SE couldn't veto it, I'd choose whichever is the most popular idea atm, probably Geomancer, so that people realize that 'actually, my favorite job being in the game but limited is kinda crappy'.

Higher update frequency. I like Blue Mage but there is no reason it shouldnt be able to do 90 content by now even without new spells.

I think I heard Koji say Puppetmaster and it made a lot of sense to me. Dawntrail seems sorta Treasures of Aht Urhgan-ish already. In FFXI the automaton could be changed to tank/healer/caster frames and equipped with a variety of attachments to give it provoke or regen and whatnot, so PUP in FFXIV could have the same sort of function as BLU where you can change from tank or healer or dps depending on what you equip. Instead of learning BLU spells they could add the automaton attachments as drops to certain fights for PUP, they wouldn't even have to be as restricted as BLU they could just give you whatever attachment for any fight they want instead of needing the enemy to do a specific skill.

Job: Beastmaster (BST)
Role: Tank
Weapon: One handed axe and shield
Armour: Fending gear

You’ll have some basic skills like some mitigation cooldowns, a pet heal like treat and some dps skills with the axe. You’ll capture monsters by weakening them to 10% health then using a net skill on them. Once captured you’ll gain a charge of that monster in your beast catalogue and can summon them once per charge (can have multiple charges). Basically you’ll build your own party of pets to fight with you up to 7 (filling party slots). You can either tank and bring pets that can heal/dps or bring pets that can tank while you heal/dps. You’ll have one small pet that doesn’t take up a party slot who you can customise for party play purposes.

Job: Onion Knight/Freelancer (ONK/FLC)
Role: Dps
Weapon: Any
Armour: Any

Pretty much build your own job. You’ll be able to equip any gear and use any weaponskills/spells/abilities from any job that you’ve unlocked. You’ll have loadouts where you can equip both skills and traits so you can bring upgraded versions of skills like setting the traits for astral fire/umbral ice and bringing fire/blizzard from BLM.

On the level cap front I believe all limited jobs can realistically just be brought up to max level cap. They have the ability to lock jobs out of content regardless of level. (BLU can’t do eureka, bozja, deep dungeon, alliance raids or ultimate even though it meets the requirements to do so).

I hope its not beast master so we can get it as an actual job one day and not something relegated to always being 10 levels behind everyone else for no reason

Yoshi-P has already said in an interview before that if we got beastmaster, it would be a limited job. Sakaguchi also recently publicly asked for beastmaster to be in FFXIV and happened to be on the stage today so it feels easy to put the two together.

I could see either them or puppet master being what we get, but we'll see. I feel you, though. Before we got the Endwalker job action trailer, I headcrafted up a janky "what if" version of beast master and I still think the job could work as a full job.
