Id rather play on a server where everyone speaks English please.

why do they say 'w' when I ask them to please use the auto translate function.

with the latency the way it is, its like we are playing two separate games anyways.

"w" is an internet expression to them, equivalent to our "lol" (it's a shorthand for 'warai' which means laugh, like how lol means 'laugh our loud')

If they're replying with that, it's probably a pretty rude way of saying no.

I for one, enjoy playing on a diverse server.

Nine times out of ten JP players don't want anything to do with non JP players. To the people who say 'I like playing this game at all times of the day with people from around the world' take your rose colored spectacles off please.

Segregation by language would be better than segregation by region, but I'd prefer either one to be honest. I'd probably get more interaction with people who work graveyard in the morning EST than I would ever get from JP players.

Never had a problem playing with JP folks. I don't wear glasses. I wouldn't mind a lower ping server, though.

It really depends on the approach and the individuals.

Both Japanese and English speakers may have rose-colored spectacles. When the two parties interact, there can be mutual enjoyment/benefit/sexiness.

edit: I think if the tactics of both speakers were more uniform, there would be less an issue with parties. But it's difficult to convey in auto-translate that the tank is planning to kite enemies around or if English speakers position a boss in one spot (thus English speakers familiar with the fight respond accordingly) versus Japanese speakers positioning the boss in a different location that is familiar to them.

Flexibility is key. A small amount of Japanese or the reverse, a small amount of English, can go a long way.

I won't argue with you there. I've met some stellar japanese folks. Unfortunately like I said though, 9/10 times JP will avoid non JP as much as they can. Where as someone who speaks english and works graveyard will probably be more inclined to want to party with me at JP prime.

I like playing with JPs. I like to steal their secrets. I like their hilarious emotes. One had an emote of a bunny holding up one of those vertical JP banners. My immediate response was "o.o?"

They thought it was hilarious.

We have a good time.

The issue most JP have with others is an issue of skill and knowledge.
If you know what to do and are good at it, often you will get tells from JP groups to join them.
