Just make the AoEs 30y like the healer abilities in PvE for a day.
When did Salted Earth get a range increase for it to "change back to 5y" even be possible?
Or is this about wanting to get rid of the pull-in for some reason?
I don't recall the ability ever originally having a pull-in feature prior to the rework of 6.1, and the only reason why it's an issue now is due to the meta-stacking effects in large-scale modes tipping the balance of power so ridiculously that it breaks any application of skill on the defender's part. Sure, we've all heard "well just CC them!" or "Don't get near them!" Problem is such pearls of wisdom aren't always helpful, and the pull-in distance is so liberally applied, that if it stacks enough, it can effectively drag people who were safe originally even from distances you'd think impossible due to server tick rate issues not keeping up with the flow of everything going on. Needless to say, what happens next just team wipes people over and over; predictable, and oft times unavoidable if the meta is done right, and yes, even Guard won't help due to again server issues.
Personally would be fine with a limitation to the pull at the very least, stacking the effect is just makes what is otherwise a perfectly valid tactic, ridiculously easy. And given how many things are already easy to enable as a result of it, you might as well just be pressing a singular button all day. That it's one of the effects that goes through pretty much any defense as well is the icing on the cake, and let me tell you, that cake doesn't look too fresh.
In Crystalline Conflict by contrast, the ability is ok to meh, depending on team composition and how acutely aware people are of if its potential uses and danger. I very much doubt they're going to change the ability any time soon however, especially given how this is a result of player driven strategy. The best defense is frankly not being in the fight at all.
It's not just the pull, or even the animation that lets it clip people from like a thousand yards away. It's the fact it ALSO applies a root to you. So you get clipped from 100y away because you ran past a DRK as he casted Salted Earth, animation completes you get yoinked across the map (even though you shouldn't have.) and than rooted and you die before you even have the chance to apply guard. Though with all the scholars roaming around now the DRK's at least aren't surviving quite as often as they used to with all these bloody DOT's floating around.
