Why doesn’t HPS ever get balanced?

Why do job adjustments always balance to DPS and not HPS? I feel like HPS discrepancy is too big and should be addressed. For instance, if you were to look at healing done in TOP, you can see there's a huge discrepancy.

You can see here that DNC, MCH, SMN, and RDM does does a lot of HPS, but BRD does significantly less even though it is also a ranged support job. I don't get why BRD should be the lowest when it also does the lowest amount of damage.

There's also a huge gap in healing when it comes to tanks.

I don't get why tank DPS needs to be within a close range of each other, but WAR is allowed to do significantly more HPS than other tanks (even if you don't count the outlier) while DRK does significantly less.

While the gap isn't as big for healers, I feel like it could be a bit tighter. I just think this is an oversight and maybe it should be looked at too rather than only looking at adjusting DPS numbers.

Why does HPS matter lol. Bring a sage and now no one needs to gcd heal

the correct solution isn't to bridge the gap by pulling everyone to dancer/warrior

it's to push everyone down to ninja/drk

This is why jobs get homogenized. Because of posts like this. "This job has something but the others don't". So SE make the other jobs do it and then get attacked for homogenizing them.

Because what DRK lacks in self-heals it makes up for in the extreme strength of its shield, TBN. That's a unique thing about DRK and it is a post like this that could homogenize them more.

TBN does in fact allow survival for an extremely long time despite a low amount of health. Many times, I have jumped into old content unsynced and where it has been easy to solo on other tanks, DRK has got very low but still survived for a very long time (about as long as I was willing to bother), because of how frequently TBN came off cooldown and was up almost all the time to absorb autos, TBs, stacks and other things.

I mained the job in Shadowbringers and absorbed entire tank busters regularly, taking 0 damage at all from them, actually even in raid content I could mitigate them so well. I was able to mitigate mob packs so well in dungeons that I did not even need a healer and had healers tell me I wasn't taking any damage and that they were useless. Because TBN + good CD useless was that good in large pulls.

The damage output has seemed different in some EW content, and I don't main DRK this time, so I can't say for sure if it's struggling now, although I did experience the issues with it when I was leveling in EW. I can however say I healed a tank in Ktisis who mitigated so well on DRK that they weren't needing me much.

But even then the stats on FFlogs does take mitigation into account in healing numbers. I don't see how a shield you use situationally is worth the low HPS when other tanks don't have as much situation mitigation and healing.

TBN is on a 15s CD vs the other tanks having a 25s CD for their short CD abilities plus because it's a shield vs a mitigation CD the DRK doesn't take any damage until it gets through the extra 25% hp shield while the other tanks are going to take the damage immediately.

Why does it matter whether the DPS jobs are balanced in terms of HPS? Heavens forbid the healers actually adapt their heals to the party?

are you using add-ons that are against the ToS to get these numbers, are you frequenting websites that use these "against ToS" add-ons...prolly good idea to delete this post before the SquareEnix PoPo get you

i have a bard and it crap from this new exansipn worst damage it was better before now grrr

SE doesn't even care about HPS on healers, why would they bother even looking at other roles for HPS
