Is there really any way for them to f*ck up the next job reveal?

I feel like we would get hyped for anything, unless they announce something like Green Mage. Actually, even then I don't think people would be too disappointed. The jobs may feel like the same in their playstyle, but they're really unique and well designed in visuals. When I look back, when I was a new player every job looked so fricking awesome I couldn't choose what I would play (fortunally I could play all of them). Well, I guess the last ones, Sage and Reaper, were a little of putting to me since they don't belong to previous Final Fantasy, but they're still really cool. I just wished Sage would be called "Medic" instead.

What about you? Is there any job you didn't like when it was announced? Is there any that you wouldn't like to be added to the game?

We're only going to get one job and it'll probably be a caster DPS and people will all be outraged. I also doubt we'll get any new races.

By default it's going to cause outrage even though it's clear at this point this game is trying to slowly water down expectations.

Sage is literally a job in FFIII and in FF Tactics Advance and FFTA2. Although I guess FFXIV's version is entirely different from those games anyway

Nah... It will be a new melee job that exclusively deals magic damage and uses a new INT based melee set.

Then you'll have that group of players crying "Why no new mage job?! Role is being ignored!"

Followed by SE going "We added a new ranged DPS job back in Shadowbringers"

And then said group of players: "But... but... Mage isn't ranged DPS"

TBH the comments made awhile back about them apparently not using jobs from previous FF games going forward raises some questions. However the primary thoughts are the following.

Does this mean we're going to see some entirely brand new jobs in the future that possibly come with new weapons we haven't seen in the franchise before?

And does this mean that jobs from non FF titles in SE's library that featured job systems are fair game?

unpopular opinion, but I dont want any new jobs.

fix what they have, solidify what they do, and if they insist on a new job for people like the OP.... stop stealing what few skills the job segment has! because every new job lessens the others in that group. new ranged magic user, well blm and smn will have things.. redistributed, lessening job identity. we have little enough job identity now, SE needs to stop catering and just firm up what they have, and put serious thought into new and unique job skills if they are going to insist on adding new jobs

I stand with you here.
We have enough jobs. Its cool to ever expand and give cool new toys...but you knows whats better then a cool new toy? Upgrading and Improving the old ones.
We need balancing and improved systems. I hate to use other games, but in this current season of Apex Legends they Overhauled and did a complete change to the gameplay. FFXIV could use something like that.
Bring back or create Job Identities. Fix and Overhaul a couple jobs we all know NEED it (Drk and perhaps Ast and Scholar) and make encounters better.

TL/DR - We dont need a new job. We need Current Job Balance.

IMO at this point individual job identity is pretty much gone. It's now essentially just getting new aesthetics within roles. So SE... pass the sword-chucks please... >.> lol

Honestly I would love for them to focus on an entire combat overhaul to go along with the graphics overhaul in 7.0 where they make all current jobs interesting again before adding new ones.

They can then afterwards add a new class during post 7.0 patches as theyve done before with Rogue/Ninja and Blue Mage respectively

New jobs builds hype and brings in lots of new players. They won’t stop adding new jobs. Though, I can see them at some point only giving us only 1 new job each expansion instead of 2.

Whatever the next job is, it will use scouting gear.

The only way the really screw it up is by being unoriginal and go down the 'builder spender' route they do with every other job.
