Retainer Fraud, SE Price Gouging BS

I've subscribed for additional retainers for years - 9 total.

This billing cycle, I decided to go back to having the 2 default retainers.

Ended my billing for additional retainers and moved all of my gear, items, etc. to the top 2 retainers on my list.

Logged in today to find that the retainers kept were #1 and #3.

Why not 1 & 2??? This is totally illogical.

Okay, I'll cough up $2.00 to subscribe for another additional retainer, thinking I'll get #2 back and can move my gear.

Log back in and now I have #1, #3, #4.

This is a BS racket, making me resub all 9 retainers just to get my gear back off retainer #2.

Seriously, WTF SE? Do better.

Probably because retainer #1 and #3 were the default starter retainers you get from the start.

How could that happen though? And then #4? I've never rearranged them (is that even possible?) I've only ever added more and left them in the list in the order they appeared.

That sounds like something to discuss with tech support before calling it a fraud.

Also if you've been subscribed to this "for years" then I would think it quite possible that you rearranged them at some stage so long ago that you forgot you did it – doubly so since they are neatly grouped by type. Did you set out with two hunters first, or would you have started with a hunter and a gatherer on your default retainers, then rearrange them once you added a second hunter?

There is a way to check this in-game.

Sort retainers (gear button on the top right of the retainer window) and check the hiring order. The top two are the ones that remain when you remove all extra retainers.

At some point you 100% rearranged them.

The two who stays are the default ones.

I have a better question:

why exactly do you have 20,000 ventures hoarded up?

You get showered in company credits and I guess he didn't want to buy more ventures all the time. Even with "only" 5 retainers you burn through ventures very quickly if you send them all on 1 hour missions regularly.

People really need to do fact check before go gun and blaze accusing SE for fraud.

I get that the OP is frustrated that he probably spent hours selling/discarding/moving his stuff to just two retainers in the hopes of saving $14/mo by only having 2 retainers. Then he finds out it is the wrong two retainers and has to spend $1 or $2 to fix it. But calling it fraud is a bit extreme. Pay the money, put the items on the "right" retainer rearrange that to the top and move on.
