90k In Eureka Orthos Should Not Count As KO

This is the most frustrating thing I have ever seen. I solo the first 30 floors, and on floor 32 I immediately DC. Log back in and I was kicked out of the instance and got a KO on my file.


Why wouldn't I just load back into the instance?
At the very least, why would it add a KO? I would at least get it if you need to start the instance over, but c'mon that is a horrible design choice. I like the content, but this needs to be addressed.

This has been an issue since PotD was released, and they refuse to fix it.

Because they don't consider it an issue and it has been designed that way so that people don't abuse disconnecting on purpose to help them clear.

Knockout=start all over again is stupid. It's just one big frustrating waste of time.

I think it's the biggest punishment I've seen in a videogame period. A solo run can take several hours and the entire run is ruined by a single mistake or disconnect from server so people better have very solid internet. DC during crafting synth also counts as a fail and destroys your mats but it's not so bad because nothing is worth more than a few million and you aren't losing hours of prog like deep dungeon.

it extends the duration of the content and makes people keep subbing :D

I would love to at least get the chance to be put back right where I was when reconnecting almost immediately after a DC, even if it means mobs that were attacking me can still kill me during that time. I got DC’d at lvl 92 on HoH: just a quick dc that put me back on the loading screen. I don’t think I want to try that again just to run into the same issue. I have stopped my PotD progress too. Finished lvl 160, not dead yet but I am getting more DCs since the patch so I’m afraid to continue.

So you want to make it so people can abuse save states or disconnects. Seems legit.

i agree when it leads to restarting the same 10 levels or a floor. That would be too easy.

However, that wouldn’t be the case if they would let us get back in at the same spot in the dungeon if reconnection occurs immediately after a dc. It could mean a beast would have killed us during that time if we were fighting or in a bad spot or not if we were in a safe spot. At least we would have a chance of not losing all progress.

Um... no. Ive played plenty of games where your character dying meant starting over from the start. Sometimes losing a character you spent months building up for nothing. Hell, old-school MMOs mostly featured you losing all your stuff AND some exp(possibly de-leveling in the process) if you died. In some of those games you could run back and get your stuff, in others anyone who stumbled by could just take everything off your dead body. This is by no means me saying we should go back to those times or make death worse in this game. Just not to exaggerate how bad this is. It sucks, but its not the worst thing ever.
