Request: Additional Paladin Changes.

I was hoping this would change in the rework, so here again:

Confiteor requires Requiescat.

Request:
using Requiescat changes the Requiescat into Confiteor instead of having Confiteor on an extra ability.
(similar to Ninjas Phantom-Kamaitachi)

Sheltron & Holy Sheltron & Intervention.
Request:
Combine Sheltron and Intervention into one hotkey.
Using Sheltron gives you the buff, using sheltron on a party member gives them intervention.
(same as Gunbreakers Heart of Stone)

Agreed. PLD has the worst button bloat out of all the jobs, and controller players are getting it the worst. There's literally more actions than available slots, unless you're willing to have an entire bar for quite literally one or two abilities. Just these two changes alone would not only fix the bloat issue on controller (at least, for now), but would honestly just make the job legitimately better.

I'd also say just make intervention Shelltron, no point in keeping on its gimmicky "adds 10% extra mitigation if use rampart/sentinal" Also Holy Shelltrons Animation is a lot cooler, im sure they could find a way to make it look like PLD's putting up a holy ward to protect someone, Give it a 2 second CD or something so you can still do double tank busters, Another way for space is to make goring blade give you a FOF buff, I saw someone suggest this and it makes a lot of sense to me.

A lot of other changes I wanna see until PLD feels less "bloaty" and actually smooth to play. Also remove oath from autos thanks.

I'd also like Passage of Arm to be easier to use.
At the minimum, have PLD to protect allies in a circle and make the "flash buff" longer.
At best, PLD should either drop a protecting bubble or have a buff equivalent to WHM.

Make it a partial redirection that applies Intervention buffs to the target or something.

Hallowed Ground, I feel that it's kind of okay with Bulwark filling the holes in PLD defense.
But its cooldown is slightly too long for its effect.

Agreed, PAO needs more general use, sure you can "just snap shot it xd" but its still annoying cone, that's bad for the sake of being "unique" Cover needs a rework, HG and All invuls should be 30 seconds apart instead of a minute, move up homegang a bit reduce Super bolide by a small amount, reduce PLD by a big amount, PLD still longest.

How about Intervention turns into Cover if you press it on the same party member twice? That'd be minus one more button without loss of functionality, other than I guess Interventioning one person and Covering another and separate cooldowns

I mean I'm for removing intervention and making holy shelltron targetable personally, just reduce the shelltron cd enough so you can still protect both you and the other tank from tank busters, Cover needs a general rework and to get off gauge, it's a ability that I wanna see have some actual use generally though, but it's hard to balance cover properly, I feel like your solution wouldn't really fix much about intervention/cover.

Theirs a bunch of space savers I can think of: Shelltron/Intervention merge, req becoming Confiteor, Removing circle of scorn, Goring blade gives you the FOF buff (or just removing fof, just buff PLD's general burst), Removing Shield bash (not 100% on this one, most don't have it on their hotbar)

It really wouldn't be hard to remove stuff from PLD's hotbar without removing anything from the Job in general, but it really really needs a lot of space right now.

Passage just needs to be removed. The only reason Divine Veil is just a literally worse Shake It Off is because we *technically* have two raid mitigation buttons while everyone else only has the one. But one of those buttons is highly unlikely to be used for full effect, so we're basically just paying a tax for no reason.

I'd generally like PAO to be reworked, but I do agree with you I rather Divine veil be buffed & PAO be removed, if we're stuck with current passage of arms, most people only really like it because it's "unique" to have a cone mitigation, They should consider Hallowed ground the 2 raid wide tax, if they want to keep it the longest invul in the game. I personally would like them to make something similar to white mage wings but on PLD... if HG is going to remain super long for a Invul PLD needs a really good upside.

I think Veil should get the regen effect like shake it off, you'd think the holy knight would have the Heal over time effect? but nah warrior cuz why not... The 400 potency heal is pratically useless on PLD as it applies right with the barrier, I feel like the barrier once broken should regen on that target for both PLD/WAR instead of upfront potency.

personally, I'd love to just see fight or flight and requiescat nixed with the potency put right into the confiteor combo. That's honestly the main thing it's for anyways
can do the same for goring blade too, It's so terrible now. It's less potency than it was with the DoT component and you can only use it half as often. Doesn't flow into anything either, it's just bad

Also, think atonement should just be killed in exchange for the divine might. Like at level X you get divine might, level Y you can stack it to 3 or 4 or whatever and, level Z you get 2 or 3 per combo. It's all just potency balancing to make it right but something like that would make the combo way more flexible as you can use or save your divine might as needed.

Graphically what I'd love... leave Rage of Halone alone, make the divine might proc change holy spirit to royal authority with a little light blade projectile added for range. Don't really have anything against holy spirit, It just was not designed to be an instant cast spell and looks really stiff and weird and we have to do it a lot.


I think that would kill enough buttons and make the basic combo stop being incredibly boring yet somehow demanding of attention. You can choose when you want to have your ranged combat windows more freely and more easily keep your stockpile for burst windows without having to choose which horrible feeling thing is less offensive to maintain your rotation timing. Strong ranged combat is kind of the thing that makes PLD stand out so why not embrace it rather than trying to shackle it like how it is now?
