Anyone else just feeling really disapointed this expansion?*vent*

I started to zone out once we started playing dressup with the bunnies when the world was supposed to be ending. I was fully clocked out during ultima thule segment with the fake sense of loss..
I stayed subbed just for the lottery release back in 6.1, in hopes of getting a house.
You guys know how that went, the "no winner bug" didn't get repaired for a month. In a game you have to sub for!:( Now plots have 150+ competitors.

I un-subscribed back then for almost 2 months and came back for 6.2 island content. I think many people were hoping Islands would be more than just retainer dispatch. Even though yoshi SAID not to hope for much, I'd rather them just...not have done it? Allocate these resources into making actual instanced housing. They both ran off the same servers anyways, because when it launched people couldn't enter their homes.

I did not like the barbariccia ex trial. I think it's poorly designed when you need to stack with somebody in the blue circle and there's a green puddle literally right where you need to be. I personally don't get who actually enjoys loading into an ex and is like"ah yes, its starting , better hit my 2minute skills every 2 minutes" it feels so linear. I think i'm burned out of everything in this game. Hate to see it, I may not come back till 7.0, if there isn't already better things to play by then. RIP my old flame

I didnt mind the expansion myself. but everyone is going to see it differently.

EW has just been so thoroughly meh to me, it doesn’t feel like FFXIV 6.0 it feel likes ShB 2.0 and I didn’t terribly care for ShB outside of its story either considering it gutted how much content we got per patch, homogenised they jobs like nobodies business and just kinda sanitised everything to the point that you actively have to try to fail

I’ve got about one more expansion in me, if 7.0 is just ShB 3.0 then I’ll probably drop the game after playing since the legacy beta, it’s a shame but I just don’t like the direction the game is going anymore

Its healthy to take breaks and try/play other games.
If FFXIV isnt doing it for you right now, feel free to unsub for abit. Honestly, if you wait to come back till the next Expansion in 7.0, you will have Alot to do! :D

Admittedly didn't read the whole post, but yeah - sentiment is shared, by quite many people.

Most of my FC has either taken a long vacation from or entirely quit the game, save for like... 2~3 people total of a 24ish-strong FC, only one of whom logs in every single day. I've all but quit and only maintain my sub due to the personal home that my FC uses for its RP setting alongside our primary FC hall... and I guess out of a sense of sentiment for the 10 years I've played. Attachment to my characters, vague hope that perhaps one day things will turn around and this will become the game I fell in love with again. Stupid reasons to keep giving a crappy company money, but hey, we all make stupid decisions sometimes.

Despite my sub remaining up for those reasons, I've effectively quit. I never log in except for FC RP events, which... have become rare if at all, given I was primary DM and my co-lead's sub is up (and she has no plans to resub until 7.0 at the earliest). I moved to ESO as my primary MMO, and am even debating giving WoW another try despite not being wow'd by it when I poked at the free trial some years back.

ESO also lets me feel like I can take actual genuine breaks whenever I want to, and not fall behind in anything or lose stuff like my house-- so I have a ton more free time to spend on other, better games like the endless backlog I've kept over these past 10 years, instead of being chained to FFXIV. It's refreshing to come home after crappy work hours to stuff I actually enjoy doing and feel like I'm having a good time in, instead of the abusive cycle of daily chores and terrible player attitudes/behavior that FFXIV became over the past 6~7 years. My mental health is a heck of a lot better because of it!

It's a tough pill to swallow, but between Yoshi's 'vision' for the game clearly having changed at some point to what it is now, and vocal FFXIV enjoyers trying to stifle any critique or discussion about the game's faults and problems, the best thing people can do is leave for something else. I realized that pretty early into Endwalker, once my distaste for the MSQ became more apparent after I analyzed it on a second viewing and read discussions about it elsewhere.

Considering we've always been drip-fed content in this way all these years, no; not really.

Try thinking about the content we don't have yet that we will have before 7.0, and that might help a bit.

What's still to come before 7.0:

• The rest of Island Sanctuary - what we just got is the "introduction phase" - let that sink in for a minute. :)
• A new Deep Dungeon
• The two new dungeon systems
• Part3 of the current 8-man Raid
• Parts 2 & 3 of the current 24-man Alliance Raid
• Lvl 90 Relics + Story quests for said relic
• the 2nd and 3rd Beast Tribes for this expansion
• More Trial fights and their savage mounts
• The meta Trial savage mount quest
• New dungeons

And this is probably the short list considering we really don't know everything they plan on patching in before 7.0

If people want to look back on Endwalker and say they were disappointed, that's fine, but wouldn't it make sense to wait until ALL of Endwalkers' content is patched in before making that judgement? :O

I mean EW is basically just a carbon copy of ShB from a content perspective, just trade the criterion dungeons and deep dungeon for ShB exploration zone and DRS and trade island sanctuary for ishgard restoration and the two are basically exactly the same

I think what has hurt this expansion is it’s theme which was depression / despair, it had a good story but humans tend to forget bad times and remember good times. Shadowbringers theme was hope / restoration which is a good time and we remember that the most.

I felt pure joy at the end of ShB and total garbage at the end of EW. No more Warrior of Light, officially no more Scions… I felt like a war hero that was abandoned and left on their own.

Hopefully the next expansion will go back to a more hopeful theme.

We are also in a situation where a large chunk of devs and Yoshi are focused on FF XVI and not as much on XIV. It’s really showing and Yoshi looks like an undead due to massive overwork. Once they finish XVI, I hope things get better.

If it doesn’t… we’ll, I’ll have to make my decision then.
