The best solution for cheaters

End support for PCs and go Playstation exclusive. It's a lot harder to hack a PS4 and PS5 than a computer. ;)

And lose a huge portion of their playerbase? Not happening

First they need to have a red wedding with all the investors/shareholders before that ever happens

Or have separate pvp modes for players on PS4/5 and PC.

So PS players can play with each other and avoid cheaters and PC players who cheat can all play with one another since SE is unwilling to address the cheating issues.

It's not an unwillingness to address it, it's that anti-cheat software, particularly client-side embedded anti-cheat, is "illegal"/falls under a weird gray area in certain places in the world and can be considered a violation of user's privacy in certain cases.

Also the fact that there is a massive community for modding, gpose, etc, and I don't think Square is dumb enough to neuter their profits that hard/welcome a riot of that size.

Ps4 is and has been hacked for years. PS5 has also been hacked but those responible are not releasing the encryption keys to the public.
