This Rush isn't very Relentless

I mean, there's nothing stopping you from just getting killed as you're trying to get use out of your LB. You can just as well press this button and be immediately turned into an Imp and there goes your LB. Or, y'know, you just take enough damage to die, not like you can Recuperate during the casting.

Come to think of it, it isn't much of a Rush either, considering you can just... Sprint... Away from a GNB throwing that and he can't exactly follow, so it isn't even that damagey as well, and the Relentless Trigger kind of requires you to be in range of people that by then would've just run or know they can ignore it.

My mind brings me back to WAR's LB that allows him to have all Guard's effect (Minus damage reduction) AND sprint speed for a whole 15s... Seems to me that GNB should have the same during those 4s that he's trying to Rush.

Another option would be to actually just give him guard as he LBs, reduced movement speed included but damage blocking completely intact. So he can Guard into LB and making him the ultimate stall machine (But also allow all Guard-Breaks to work against him.)

Hmmm, but I think GNB's LB is shorter than most and increasing it in return for some defensives would diminish the class's more 'relentless' identity.

You're absolutely right, GNB should be able to LB as often as he does now. It's just that he doesn't have the tools to do his own job of actually hitting people in Melee distance and he should at LEAST be able to defend himself as he's trying to do so.

But yeah, he should probably get as many LBs, just let it actually be decent instead of practically a suicide button.

Having to effectively CC yourself while using this LB and DNC's Honing Dance really doesn't work out well when it's like raising a "Please kill me now" sign above your head.

Hmmm.. I think their LB is fine, and its up to the GNB to see if they can get the full damage off or use it early for a quick 3 sec stun.

I mean i get killed mid LB on the regular, goddamn MCH LB to the back of the dome right as i start the cast, Bahamuts initial spawn doesnt even cause damage but the bars gone. I feel like more of the LBs work this way than dont, I dont know why everyone tries to make it a pity party for their job regarding LB cancelling.

Happens to quite a few of the Melee DPSs, SAMs can get cancelled if they die midway through, MNK's 2nd part of their LB gets removed if they die during the animation, DRGs can die from DoTs when they are up in the air.

I feel like one simple change would fix the GNB Limitbreak while still being punishable: Make the stun at the end cast on the initial cast of the skill.

That way you hit at least ONCE with the vuln, purify can be used to cleanse it/escape, and the GNB can proc it right after and ensure the hit goes off if need be. This means both the GNB and the opponent has equal control over how they handle/deal with it.

With Server Ping having the second hit be the stun just doesn't work, not when certain other classes can stun every 15s without any drawbacks.

I'm pretty sure the Idea is to stack as many Vulns on the target as possible so the big stunny hit deals a lot of damage. I just wish a simple Scatter Gun wouldn't just invalidate the hit entirely, or just, y'know, downright killing the GNB that can't even Recuperate while he's doing this.

Right I get it, but I'm saying an aoe stun like primal rend (since they can spam it every 15s why not put it on an LB?) then spin to apply vulns, then you can still manually trigger it whenever you want for the burst damage.

The damage would be on the final hit still, but the stun would be on cast so that you have the chance to at least catch SOMEONE with it and it could add skill to the LB timing as you want to try and use it after seeing them break out of other stuns or when you know purify might be on CD to add pressure.

As of right now they just kinda go "lol what are you doing" and yank you to a corner. Adding CC immunity or speed to the lb would be fine too, but I feel like the point of a stun at the end of a long windup makes no sense when if you want to coordinate with a party you could say LB ready and they see the stun and go in as the vulns are being stacked or something.

The risk reward is more risk/less reward when your hopes of doing damage is only if you sit in place for 5 gcds hoping you'll get all the vulns to hit and hope taht they stay in range of the stun and hope you can follow up before being burst down.
