[Petition] Have Naoki Yoshida Play Healer and take off the DPS Gloves for a year.

I understand that a lot of the Battle Team and Dev Team have been working on our systems for years in terms of battle content, but the Healer community on these forums is still not happy with their gameplay. You say "Go play Ultimate", then perhaps you need to take the DPS wheels off and learn to play a healer.

Here's a fun fact: When I was playing DPS at first, I didn't understand the Healer Role or Tank Role and what they do very well in regards to utilities, abilities, and systems. Once I spent significant amounts of time(at least the span of 3-4 months) learning both from the community and the Job Guides, I started to understand what each job did, how it played, and what things I can do as said job. Given that the development team has been out of touch with Healer Balance and feel for at least 6 years to the point we only have one button to DPS and one button to DoT I want Naoki Yoshida to pick up a Healer(more than likely White Mage) and play it for a year.

While he is hands-on, an interview brought us some insight as to why healers are in the current state they are now. As much as I respect the man, it's important as both a player of FFXIV and a Developer to understand how their systems work, rather than push it on to a new person who doesn't know what to do with the job. It'd be nice if we knew in a Live Letter or something how they decide to balance dungeons behind the scenes during testing, and give us reasons as to why.

A Hrothgar healer for a full year.
I'd be ok with that.

I Think 'Go play Healer if you're that out of touch' is a good response to go play ultimate.

Him playing a hrothgar, or at least one of the tailed races would also hopefully push for more recognition of their issues l.

as a WHM main i fully support this

Quick reminder that his answer during the live letter was way more involved than just "Go play Ultimate" and that a solid argument isn't based on a three word reduction of a much lengthier response.

I mean the whole reply was just a long winded way to das 'no we don't get the question is about engaging content. Think of the sprouts! Can't make content difficult (again question was about engaging not diffoculty or Challenge)so go play ultimate to feel more Challenged.

Definitely agree Hrothgar White Mage with no dev tools to skip or make things easier for him. Should have to live stream his playing and have him change his hairstyle every couple of weeks to a different racial hair for the Hrothgar(paying 10$) from his own money and not just giving it to himself!

He said they did what they've done all xpacs: First tier of SVG and other content is intentionally easier. Difficulty of stuff will ramp up throughout the xpac. I guess compare Titan to Shiva in Eden?

I enjoy healing right now, but if people have an issue with it I believe all voices should be heard. I just think poorly paraphrasing his answer creates misinformation and muddles the conversation.

Yes, and the question he gave that answer to boiled down to 'healer is boring RN, can we get more engaging job design?'

Not more difficult. More engaging.

Oh and while we’re at it, let’s change the name of the role from healer to support. Because that’s exactly what you people seem to want. Most of y’all don’t heal as it is and causing unnecessary party/raid wipes. So yeah let’s rename the healer role to just support with just a few unique heals for each. Kinda like in pvp.

Let’s give every job their own unique spam heal that uses mp just like in pvp. That way the new support can have all these pretty amazing new dps tools and rotations.

I’m sure you all would love that. Let’s do it. Get the petitions ready. Let’s do it.
