Could the plot/ward text bug be the cause?

This may have been asked, and i do doubt it but here goes.

There were reports of the placard showing the plot/ward reversed.

Did they hotfix this, and if so or not, could this have caused the housing error?

Here's a quote on the lodestone from a dev.
"Thank you for reporting this! It will be fixed as soon as possible. (Also we confirmed it's just a text issue, so don't worry - you should still be registered for the correct plot!)"

Notice it says "should still be registered....."

What you are reading is something that took place before this debacle took place. Has nothing to do with the epic failure of winning number zero. The post you were looking at is below. The issue appears more database and code related.

Edit/reply: Beings we can only make 20 posts a day and I'm already limited by this one single post for today (gg SQE), to answer you below - yeah, I realize it was made during the lottery purchase time, how else could they purchase an entry? :) The entries aren't the issue - the results of the lottery are. Again, all we can do is speculate because we have zero information on how anything works, but just a text issue on results is relatively easy to fix and that's just a visual issue they can fix on the backend. The winning bids are a completely different beast and the database entries for those are what's screwed up.
Just my take on it. It makes me want to log in and go check the opposite of where I was, but I'm so fed up with this crapfest, I don't wanna log in to even play.

Just to check , the date this happened was after the lotto started, not before, so couldnt it affect the 0 problem ? For eg people went in the lotto when the plot/ward was wrong, then they hot fixed it, but it stuffed the lotto entries and included the 0?

That's a very common way of phrasing things even when the speaker is 100% certain that what they're saying is the case. I don't think it's something to be read into, even if it has anything to do with the lottery glitch-up which it probably doesn't.

This error is most likely just a text error with whatever "mail merge" sort of process fetches the data and drops it into the text.

Ok all good, just thought i would put it out there.
