Healer Q&A in PLL LXVIII

that aside, my personal take: isn't it wonderful how a bit of shorthand to save time in the LL can lead to so complete a misunderstanding of the question's intent, and to such a dismissive answer in reply?

'just go play ultimates if you want healing to be engaging' is real galling.

At this point we have just to be as concise as possible so they can't misunderstand the question and just tell us to go play X when X has been cleared without healers too, on the other hand a thing we can be glad its happening is that recently the dev team has been confronted with healing problems much more frequently than the usual which may force some changes in the long run

I am very annoyed at this. They didn't even have the courtesy of reading my question as asked. Even allowing for translation, such a deliberate twisting is unbecoming of the very spirit of a Q&A

It's also extremely dismissive.

We're told time and time again by the white knights that the FFXIV devs actually listen to the players. When it comes to healers, they don't.

Honestly, your fault for failing to be succinct.

And stop with the "there not being enough to heal", you've played this game long enough to know this is a heavily scripted system, you know it won't change much of how you play in the end. What healers need is more damage options and everyone needs to stick and focus on that.

Also, stop mentioning veterans they don't care. All they care about are new players, so use stories like "my friend stopped playing because he was tired of pressing a single button 99% of the time". That friend is me btw, I played during 1.0+beta, quit, friends invited me during HW needed a healer and I just couldn't do it anymore(Started again at the end of HW as tank).

We need to stop being nice about how we ask these questions, and word them in a way they can't mistranslate (or deflect).

As Aluja89 stated, we need to focus on asking for more damage options since, without a combat system overhaul, they'll never manage to make (more) healing more engaging.

At some point we're gonna have to be jerks and pull a Endwalker Samurai lest we continue to be ignored.

it doesn't need to be damage options even, just a [Thing To Do]. buffs, debuffs, resource management, field management--literally anything would be fine, as long as it's appropriately engaging from moment to moment during downtime.

also "your fault for failing to be succinct" on the single most liked/'repeated' question for the EN and JP question trheads, which presumably were people who read and got the question's intent is a rancid take, man.
