G'raha Tia's DPS job

G'raha Tia's DPS weapon should be Bow. That's it.

He uses a bow in the Crystal Tower quests and Y'shtola already provided BLM to the Trust roster. It's redundant, meanwhile where isn't a single Avatar ranged dps.

Also an AI swap from caster to ranged can't be too hard.

Dude's one of the most potent mage out there, he knows how to use the whole crystal tower, he legit learned how to levitate by reading a book once, he will get enough magic power to save an entire civilization, he's a prodigy, BUT since he got a bow in quests 8 years ago, he should use bows.

8 years ago real time; 200+ years ago for G'raha.

I somewhat agree with the idea of having a ranged physical in the group, but it would be silly to have G'raha be that person.

G'raha has spent like 200 years marinating in Allagan technology, and you want him to use a bow and arrow?

The WoL WISHES they had ShB G'raha's level of sauce. This dude said "BREAK" and even Ran'jit was like "this mf spittin"

An important thing to keep in mind is that he does not have the power level he had as the Exarch. A lot of that was due to melding his body to the tower and being able to wield its vast reserve of aether for his own spellcasting.

He's clearly still a decent mage in his own right, after so many years of practice, but it's a lot more draining on him than it was before and he has a lower natural limit to his strength.

It's a little unclear whether his own memories have been displaced by the addition of the Exarch's memories or whether he still remembers both versions of his life as equally recent. His personality is closer to his younger self which makes me assume more of a merge, though there's nothing directly supporting it.

Also, nitpicking but it's "only" 100 years or so since the Exarch was young G'raha Tia, awoken in the far future. He was asleep in the tower for 200 years but I don't think that counts.

Yes to everything. It would still be nonsensical for him to go back to using a bow. Granted, he is not the exarch, he remembers the exarch's story as he would remember a tale about someone else, I think, but what he was able to achieve, not in terms of power but in terms of smartness, versatility, and so on. Having him as an archer back would be like having a gladiator Y'shtola in Trust.

I'm pretty sure because they were the same person there weren't any conflicting memories in there (except for the WoL opening the Tower I guess)... Which meant that the memories of the timeliine where he became the Crystal Exarch kind of became an extension of his own memories when they fused and he also got to keep the somewhat stronger soul that he got from the Rejoining caused by the 8th Calamity. So he just remembers living an extra about 300 years and got a power up.

I think his switch to Black Mage makes sense with his story and how much he's grown in ability, but it does make me kind of sad that he's no longer an archer at the same time too. I'm a Bard catboy so I was so excited that he was like me when I first met him in ARR because up to that point I was the only one around in the story wielding a bow outside of the job quests. And there certainly weren't any other catboys around either besides the ones I had met in the U tribe.

So it would have been cool if he could have been firing off arrows along with me in Trusts but I'm okay with what we do have.

I suppose he could Shiva up a bow in that role. Doesn't have to detract from his maginess.

It's a little unclear whether his own memories have been displaced by the addition of the Exarch's memories or whether he still remembers both versions of his life as equally recent. My assumption is that younger G'raha is still the primary personality, with the Exarch taking a backseat but still influencing his behavior a bit.
